Like every damn Rossi-fan-fool, I wanted an AGV 5 continents Rossi replica. Little did I know there are 2 kinds of helmets - one with clip and the other with the D-rings (4 times more expensive). I was taken aback when I saw the clip version. It was pathetic and looked as if, the clip would come off with some effort. Glad that I dumped the Rossi replica desire altogether and went for an AGV GRID mono white - matches my Gixxer and leathers too.

D-rings over clip, any day.

The clip on the AGV has several teeth and over a period of time and repeated use, they will lose strength and the loop that releases the clip is a piece of fabric! It looked worse than my VEGA which I used to use when I rode an Apache.

No @Praful - the Axor is an entry level product.

If you're looking for something tasty, hang on a bit. SPG has something cooking on the stove.

if you're in a hurry, you can get a NEXX, which is being distributed by Vega now. Touch pricey though but good helmets.

Nexx with Vega ? Weren't you guys who introduced NEXX here in India ?

Yup, my friend too had a agv imported, it had the clip type too. I was confused, i even thought he was duped with a duplicate product.

SPG stopped NEXX distribution in Jan this year. Vega is now the official distributor.

Euro-spec helmets are allowed to have the EU ratchet instead of the D-ring. These are not allowed on track though. The AGV being referred to was likely not a fake.

Righto! The bloke at the store said that tracks allow only D-rings.

I am a new member on this network.

Needed some help deciding amongst these two. I prefer the Studds Shifter D2 because it has a clear visor and most of my riding is post midnight. Vega Axor on the other hand is DOT certified.

They fit my budget comfortably.

What's your opinion?

These two helmets have been already compared among each other on this thread some times back and almost every members voted for the Studds Shifter.

My brother has a Studds Shifter and I have to admit that his lid is better than mine, which is a Scorpion from the same manufacturer Studds.

Can I purchase the strap/buckle with lock system of LS2? My LS2 Phobia is 2 yrs old and as good as new,but the buckle has rusted like anything. How much does it cost to replace?
