    TC, thanks again
Can you give me a link/image to these speakers so that I can get an idea of their size/layout?

    I know zilch about them.

I need help with purchasing my next helmet. I am currently using a Vega Cliff. It's my first helmet and has been with me for more than 2 years. i wish to upgrade to a better helmet which will be more comfortable on longer rides.
My budget is 3k to 5k max, only if the helmet is worth it. (you know what i mean.)

Recently, i went to a two stores near the Andheri East flyover, before the turn at Landmark, the Vega Helmet store and the one after it run by a man called Kantibhai.
i received contradicting news which has confused me so i am looking for clarity from you knowledgeable folk.

The Vega Store kept helmets from LS2 too but now the prices have been increased to 5500 for the new stock that has come in. i just glanced at the models and left.
I visited Kantibhai's store next, three shops away. he had a few LS2 models but he was more keen and had quite a stock of THH helmets. here;s what Kantibhai told me:
      1. LS2 helmets are not DOT or ISI certified and the pieces being sold earlier in 2.5k or the range of it were cheap replicas.
      2. THH helmets has re-entered the market with ISI certification in conjunction to its DOT certification. the older lot of helmets from THH only bear the DOT certification graphic but the newer ones have an ISI mark Sticker on them. he said that the company has undertaken the necessary steps to obtain the certification to become legal for sale in India.

I tried on a THH helmet, i can't recall the model number but it has a matte graphic finish with the Pilot design. the fit was great and the helmet wasn't too heavy either.
it came with a metal buckle fastener and they don't have micrometric fateners, i was told by Kantibhai.

however, the news of LS2 not having Certification spooked me a bit and i have spent a couple days scouring the internet and our forums for relevant and credible information.

Please help me out here guys. i do not want to make an error in purchasing something that is very important in protecting my life and giving me a great time.

Also, could some one tell me where i could see/try/buy MT helmets, SOL helmets and the like for a budget of 5k max?
Oh, and also decent gloves for long rides. up to 1000 budget for those.

thanks in advance for all your help!

LS2's are ECER22-05 certified. i have it from 3.5 years.

Moto101 & Megha Enterprise in lalbagh road,
xTorque in HSR layout, sector 1

Megha will have SOL, you can try the same as it's almost in the same range. Apart from that, the newer lots of LS2's are in that range. Slight increase in budget and you can get hold of a HJC. Cheaper ones available are THH & Kranos (in Moto101).

Thanks. HJC would be better than MT? HJC CL 17 worth it( i can extend if its worth it and not because of brand name)?

I feel it's definitely worth. I would suggest you to try all the options back to back; this will immensely help you in deciding. Certain positive aspects that differentiate the HJC lid from MT & SOL are - lightweight, snug & better paddings. This opinion is based on my observation, and of course it is subject to change. Therefore, try'em on and conclude.

Moto101 will have MT & HJC so you can easily compare them. In fact, I have tried both back to back many times in Chennai Moto101 & in xTorque, HSR - & HJC was overwhelmingly impressive in all occasions. I wish I had the budget to get one though.

That's about it, rest is up to your experiments on practicality. In any case, make sure that you 'try before you buy'.

                All the best.

P.S. - Taking off the Scorpion's liners and putting them back on is quite tedious!

Well, it was used maybe for a few times. My friend wanted an open face helmet. So he asked me if this could be sold off. And I placed an ad.
He received a lot of calls.
People do buy used helmets, then.

Yes they do. I sold my LS2 Phobia for 2k after 3yrs of daily usage. Condition was as good as new though the buckle was a bit rusted.

Ok so my most loved LS2 helmet got stolen last night, served me well for 5+ years. Looking for a new helmet.

                              Please suggest some within 5 to 6 K range ( with nice graphics : ) ). Thanks.
