AFAIK the shell of scorpion and Shifter is same. only difference is the aerodynamic property of shifter and a secondary sun visor, these are the visible difference.

To test the product, once must have a accident and then give the conclusion of which of the studds helmet is better , but jokes apart you cannot go wrong with the Studds helmet. Stay away from Vega they are just for asthetics.

And as you said your budget is around 2300rs, I suggested Shifter and I guess payeng had brought a Studds shifter helmet and he had put up a nice review of the helmet. You might want to check post number #14436 in the helmets thread.

Cheers,

Hi Guys,

I have recently bought a RS200. Forgive my lack of knowledge over the matter, I would like to solicit your assistance in zeroing on a DOT branded helmet (light weight & having good ventilation) & a pair of gloves for city riding. My built is on a higher side as a result would like a bigger sized head gear. Budget is not on a higher side.

Kindly share your views.

Regards,
Abheyjit

Both shells are different. The quality of the Scorpion's shell is better.

i too am looking for a reliable helmet.

studds helmets seem to be a good option. ~ 2000

slightly more pocket heavy would be Sol ~ 4000

A little higher would be MT ~ 5000-6000

ensure u don't buy online, ensure you go to a proper authorised shop and TRY the helmets before purchasing one

all the best, and share your experience here

I don't understand why we everytime say "search the thread". Why don't we just close the thread and keep searching as all answers are already there... Don't start a fight now because that's another thing that we usually do... Happy new year.

Check out if your regional Bike gear stores are selling KRANOS helmets that are manufactured by MT on demand by SpartanGear. They are the cheapest DOT and ECCE certified helmets you can currently find. However they are a relatively newer breed and they donot have any crash test results so take my suggestion with a pinch of salt.

Helmet costs 3350 (atleast the model that I bought). I believe currently the price has shot up to 3750.

Spartan ProGear | Product

Go to page 3 on the link above to find teh Kranos helmet. Also there is a issue with the people who are running that website. Its not updated regularly because one of the regional stores that I buy my gear from, they stock various graphic designs of the helmet which are not visible on the website. So keep that I mind.
