Re: Helmets
It's common in such shops. If they don't stock a product, they will say such bad things about it. So that people buy whatever the products they have. AFAIK Spartan is importing MT Helmets and that may be the reason they aren't selling it. I never heard MT helmets have some issue.Originally posted by fatfatia View PostHi

And moreover Let's Gear up is no longer the authorized re-seller for Spartan.Originally posted by zikzak View PostIt's common in such shops. Re: Helmets
I just checked on downtown helmet today and it was not even covering till my chin. The size I checked was L size, weight was something around 1450. Fitting was good though but if buying a full face helmet and it doesn't even cover chin..? Doesn't feel good to me.Originally posted by vedavyasa86 View Postanyone using 'Studds Down town full face helmet'?
if so can you please tell me how much it weighs.
I have vega eclipse - which is not a snug fit - not comfortable and wobbles, which i gave to my dad - fits him perfect!
MT Axxiss Geo -3 - Superb helmet - but in city its pain in the neck - weighs around 1450 -1500 gms small size
I am planning to buy a Studds downtown helmet, please advice, reason is i loved the modular design, flip out style , cool looks.
so someone please provide me with the weight and sizes available ( checked the studds site its says starts from M)
thank you.

Re: Helmets
We got goodies .... an Iridium rainbow visor and since the helmet didn't come with a chin curtain, the friendly folks from Bike-O-Pedia gave me one :-)Originally posted by Naveen Vajja View Post

The Iridium visor ... It is an attention seeker and grabber. Your IPhone 6 will not even hold a hair to the number of finger prints this attracts. And its a major pain to get those out. It is a maintenance hog. Few points to consider for Iridium Visors ...
1. They scratch like hell. And each and every scratch shows up ... like those nasty puberty pimples. The bugs are like dead creatures under a spotlight ... makes you feel like a destroyer of an entire race. Ok I'm being dramatic :-P Its rather the inside that scratches even worse than the outside. So people who have the habit of using your helmet as a carry bag should avoid this. They also stock iridium silver visor as well.
2. Visibility at night is a pain. It is not exactly nil and better than those dark tinted or the iridium silver. But I'd prefer a clear one at night.
3. Cannot wear your fancy polarised Gunnars under this helmet as it will give you all sorts of rainbow effects :-) People with vision problem will have issues and get mild headaches after really long drives *people I know*
4. Clean only with a wet cloth or preferably under running water. Never clean them dry.
Now the Chin curtain ... now I'm not sure if it is helping or making things worse. It is a different kind of quiet where the wind is not howling ... but rather quietly roaring. It is difficult to explain, but I guess since it is not so sharp it will do. Kranos doesn't have a chin curtain. Its from the high end MT.
P.S: I do not own nor have a vested interest in Bike-O-Pedia. They are just my neighbourhood friendly biker shop. When I'm on the road, I'm indestructible. No one can stop me... but they try.
