My concern as well, even when I last went to PRS(3 years ago), they did not have AGV on display.

          • AGV GT Veloce

            Hey guys

So I was on this spree of figuring out which helmet fit me best; and ended up getting an MS and ML AGV GT veloce, the end result; I went with a SHOEI! Lol Anyways, so quick question I have these two Veloce used less than a week with a balaclava but they don't have an ISI sticker, would I still be able to sell these? these are having the same tech as the Corsa and Pista line so the top of line ECE stuff here but then I know the ISI story is quite strict now?

            Thanks for any input

Get AGV directly from Dianese store in Bangalore. Good prices, you might get a deal too. Also, I'd recommend K5 with only a slight increase in price.
Also, about getting it carried from abroad, one can try the helmet sizes here in India and then order accordingly.

Chongaik is what you're looking for but I hope you have tried the helmet somewhere.
Sizing and fit is much more important than brand.

                  • Re: Helmets

I have two independent queries regarding helmets and I kindly request members to share their experience and opinion on the matter.

                    Bike: Himalayan

                    Helmet type: Full face

Riding: city mostly, highway occasionally and touring rarely.

Cruising speed: 60-80 kph in the city, 100 kph on highways.

Query #1: My brother isn't too keen on spending 6-10k on a helmet and after checking out SOL, MT and THH, he is now fixated on SMK helmets. They are available on motocentral and are supposedly manufactured by studds or steelbird(not sure which one). Would you guys recommend it?

Query #2: I have been eyeing MT and SOL for a long time now and have been wondering if buying a Bell or HJC helmet would be a better bet. Preferably the ones below the 10-12k mark(Bell Qualifier or HJC CSR2/CL17). I noticed that MT have 2 helmets that are 5 star rated by Sharp apart from being DOT and ECE certified, so now I'm in a bit of a pickle. What do you guys would suggest?

                    Cheers and regards,
                    Safe riding![emoji111]
And then the lord said "Let there be Bike": And there was bike
And the lord saw the bike, and it was Goooood!

Well dude is the bike to be ridden by both of you and if so is the usage pattern the same?

My suggestion would be to stick with SOL or MT since these are more popular and known brands. Dont know much about THH and SMK is a new entrant. While buying the helmet you should check for whether its available for trial in shops near you. Considering these brands are sold more widely shops for them should be more easy to locate. Also, take into consideration whether spares for the helmet are easily available since most people would go though at least two visors (not to mention pin lock inserts etc) before the helmet becomes old. Also if you and your brother are going for rides together maybe you want to invest in a bluetooth communication system so helmet with that feature would be nice.

On comparing MT with HJC or Bell well I guess you could go for it. But I think Bell Qualifier is one of those helmets that suffer from excessive wind noise (dont remember right now..please check reviews on revzilla) also while these helmets come at ok prices the spares would still be premium.

With MT you could get the revenge for around Rs6700 and spare visors for Rs1000 and its rated Sharp 5 too (a rating standard that i quite like - personal opinion). Ultimately you could try and convince your brother that his head is more valuable than this smartphone at least (assuming he is one of those guys ...i have friends like that too) and for yourself get the most safest and best fitting helmet after trying it out in person.

Yup, same bike(for now) and with the same riding pattern. Even our head size is the same, so we can share the same helmet.

He is not one of those guys who don't value their brainz.[emoji12] He is saving up for something nice like a Shoei and wants to spend about 4-5k for now. I on the other hand want to chip in and get something much better.

And yes, Bell has expensive spares. 3500INR for a clear shield and 11000INR for the transition(photochromatic) shield. Holy mother of dragons![emoji15] [emoji13]

Any inputs on using car window tint film(clear) as scratch proof layer in helmet visors ?

Disclaimer: I am no expert, but here are my observations from the above video.its not whether u buy MT or a local isi helmet.Any wrong fitted helmet won't solve the purpose its meant for.
1)the helmet buckle strap must not have been tied tight enough,as when the impact happened the helmet was pushed upwards.
                                2) the helmet size could have been over sized so as there was a gap between the head and the helmet so as when the impact happened the head banged against the upper part of the helmet.
Just my observations, not promoting or defending any brands
