    Thanks
You will get pinlock 30 with Smk twister which is very helpful in fog and in this range twister is the wise pick. Mt mugello would fall in the same range but it comes without pinlock, but it comes with DD strap.
Smk is does get bit noiser then mt at triple digit speed but that can be fixed but covering the Bluetooth area with a tape.
Spares for smk are also easily available.

Previously I was using Steelbird (Adonis) with my Passion Pro. The helmet is so light(<900gm) but can't really comment on the quality part considering it's a 900 Rs. helmet.

Being a student I'm quite tight on budget. Can you guys please suggest me some best buy near around 3k-4k or should I raise the budget (which is kinda difficult).

            TIA, open to all suggestions!

            Thanks, Siddhanth!

I checked all the brands and impressed with Studds (Shifter & SMK Twister).

Considering my usage, I won't really be needing pin lock visor.

Can anyone please comment on quality and feel of Shifter vs Twister?
How is the high-speed stability, say I love to ride till 110 and mostly at 90-95 kmph.
Anyone has any experience with qualities of them; is twister really worth that margin, as the price is double?

If you won't need pinlock, then surely go with Shifter. There's one more thing that I wish the Shifter had: a chin curtain. It prevents air pass thru the chin area and thus makes the helmet quiet during high speeds. But if you can do some jugaad on the Shifter, then it's all the same as the twister.

Quality wise, I'd prefer the Shifter because the padding is very good. Twister's padding was somewhat thin and was a little uncomfortable on my jaw.
              :D

Currently am using a Caberg V2X Carbon and Schuberth SR2. Both are super awesome and ultra safe helmets.

Adding above point, make sure you are getting helmet visor with Anti-Glare coating. While in night and fools driving on high beam makes you blind. Even they are from behind the reflection from rear view mirror make blind. I had to turn the RVM to avoid blinding.

I recently got MT Stinger for 5k. Anti-glare works like magic.

Your ECE/DOT helmet can void your insurance???
The Karnataka High Court has ordered that insurance companies should not compensate accident victims not wearing ISI helmets.Justice L Narayanaswamy passed the order on an appeal by the Oriental Insurance Company challenging an order by a court in Madhugiri directing the company to compensate accident victims. The high court held that motorists should wear helmets as prescribed under rule 230 of the Karnataka Motor Vehicles Rules. The court stated that a helmet should have ISI number (IS 4151:1993) mentioned on it.Besides, the helmet should also contain the manufacture's name, year of manufacturing and size which should also be easy to read, the order stated.A principal civil judge in Madhugiri in Pavagada taluk had directed the insurance company to pay a compensation of Rs 2.58 lakh to two persons who met with an accident in May 2014.The insurance company had challenged the order and filed an appeal.

For them 200Rs worth ISI helmet is good enough to save you , that is the Irony of our system.

Guys, which helmet should I go for? A friend recommended LS2, and I tried out a few at a store, and compared to SMK at least, it felt good and better. What I am confused about is which model number of LS2 is the better one? There are so many out there. Also, I wanted to know, is a chin curtain important? A few of the lower end LS2 helmets don't come with chin curtain.

My bike is a Unicorn 160. My daily commute is 34 km (to and fro) on a highway. I prefer to stay at the speeds of 60 to 80 kpmh. Since my bike is new (got the number yesterday), I don't think I'll be cruising at 100 kmph anytime soon.

Keeping all this in mind, which other good helmet would you guys recommend?

Regarding the chin curtain, it's better to have one. Helps to reduce the wind noise inside the helmet. In winters, it prevents the cold air to sneak in thru the chin area

Chin curtain is a good feature, also the lower end LS2 doesn't have the option for pinlock. Plus the visor cost is is also high.

                            • SOL Unicorn Helmet

Hi everyone! I have been using MT helmet (Axxis Limited Evo with Rainbow Visor) until recently. Used LS2 Phobia prior to that. LS2 was a size L while MT was a size M, thanks to the dealer of MT. Maybe due to this, the MT didn't last long. How is the SOL Unicorn or SOL Metalman compared to today's competition? Need suggestions please!

                                Hey guys,

I've looked into and tried a lot of helmets. SMK is out. I haven't tried out MT helmets, but a lot of my friends are saying after that crash of a motocross player and his death, MT Helmets are off their list. Hence, ignoring MT helmets for now. My friends are recommending LS2 helmets, and so far, whichever ones I've tried, they are really good in quality compared to others. Hence, I am interested (quite a lot) in getting an LS2 helmet. I've read the Fake LS2 helmets thread, but couldn't draw a proper conclusion from it. On the official LS2 website (https://ls2helmets.com/in/), if we select India as the country, the only dealer it shows is Laxmi Automobiles in Pune. Apparently, Laxmi Automobiles also have their own official website where I can purchase a helmet from (Official LS2 Website).

I've narrowed it down to FF320 model of LS2. Seems really good, proper ventilation, good padding, chin curtain, dual visors (including sun visor inside), etc. Overall, seems like a good helmet. I tried one out at a shop for size, and liked the L size. Couldn't buy it from the shop (in Thane) coz he was charging an exorbitant price (7.5k for a helmet that's available for 5.4k online).

Anyways, after all this research, I am still a little bit concerned. What's the current status of LS2 helmets in India? Are Laxmi Automobiles (Official LS2 Website) trustworthy? I can get one off Myntra for 500 bucks cheaper (sold by FashionTech), but I don't know who the seller is, so can't vouch for authenticity. Another seller is on Ebay (Rider's Den), but as of right now, I haven't found an Ebay 10% discount coupon (maybe they've stopped giving those).

So, what's the verdict? Should I go for LS2 from Laxmi Automobiles (www.ls2india.com)?
