    • Tips to overcome plastic smell

All new helmets have that new plastic smell. I wore my helmet for the first time and immediately found the smell overpowering. Cold winter morning didn't help either . Fortunately, the face of the helmet (Vega Boolean) can be lifted up and so I went for my practice ride that way.

Is there anything to speed up the process of reducing the new plastic smell?

      • i recently bought this cross matt-black helmet from Probiker's in Pune. It has an inside visor which acts as a sun-shade. I even got a free head-cap from him for being an X-bhpian But now that i am back in Baroda and having a look at it.... i don't see any DOT certification (all the glossy ones with graphics did have it though).
This one cost me Rs 3800 and feels worth it (he advised me to buy this one over the MPA-agv one as this one had better padding and a removable cladding too).
Can anyone tell me whether this one is worth the price i paid for it?? Also is it as good as the DOT certified ones??

                  • Has anyone heard of the "LS2" brand of helmets? Any reviews?

A store in Hyderabad has this brand - and expects Rs. 4800 for an LS2. Is this too much to pay?

Also, how much should one expect to pay for Vega's newer high-end range? These helmets are also going for Rs. 4800.

                    Thanks.

excellent helmet Ls2 is a big brand company situated in spain. its having anti scratch visor & good quality washable inner with DOT standards . its very light weight and compact in size u can also think for cross zebra model. going for any type of helmets first check there standards.

                            • @gaurav_gaumzy: With a budget of Rs.12-1300, you could get the Studds Rhyno full face new version or if you like flip-ups you can try the Studds Ninja/Ninja 2G/3G (refer my review on Ninja 2G). You may have to wait for a couple of weeks or so for Studds stock, (refer HydBiker's mail communication with Studds) but I recommend these lids over the Bravo/Formula HP as the latter ones are too basic&won't serve the purpose at high speeds.

i wont suggest u to go for 2g because in that they have given plastic looks which r not good for high speeds its flip up gears r also to delicate. and try to remove that visor & fix it again u will come to know how difficult it is.3g is good only issue its too bulky when its open up but looks r very good n strong. but again maintenance problem as they have given automatic lifting spring.quality wise rhyno is good but i am afraid of visor fittings again. if u r ready to change helmets frequently then go for any helmets but normally user use helmets around more than 3 years that time they require after sales service. so i suggest u to go for running models. which can be repair after market also.arron i wont trust that brand.
