Both are almost the same when it comes to weight. I guess they weigh around 1.5 kilo's +/- 500 gms... at least thats what the stickers on the lid mention.Originally posted by Coplay@180 View PostWhat about the weight? which one is lighter? LS2 or Cross
Premium helmets have scratch resistant visors. There are no anti-scratch visors for helmets. AGV is a good choice (not the MPA AGV) over the LS2 and Cross. Otherwise the MPA AGV, LS2 and Cross are similar in terms of safety certification, size, etc. MPA AGV's are slightly heavier compared to the other 2.Originally posted by felix.ragav View PostI'm on the verge of upgrading my helmet this month and am looking for ones with a anti scratch visor. Other requirements would be Weight, Comfort fit and Howling . What is the price range I can expect?
I was planning for CROSS, LS2 or AGV, but doubt if they offer antiscratch visors. My budget for now would be around 3k.
Thanks!
Ragav
P.S. I've read that it is reccomended to change the helmet once a year. Is it true for Helmets like Shoei and Arai??
All helmets should be changed once every 5 years and this holds good for the high end ones as well.ATGATT - Because hospital ceilings are boring !!!

Thanks! Will look it up.Originally posted by n_aditya View PostBetter still, dip some cotton in vodka and apply on the visor. Alcohol is non abrasive and repels water on surfaces.

Yeah right, oil ??? It's gonna get dirty in less than a mile.
Instead buy "RainX" (not sure of the spelling). I use it in my cars and it repels water very well and doesnt allow any droplets to stay on the glass. Available at most shops that sell imported car care products. Its basically a small bottle with windshield washing/cleaning fluid. You can get it from EVO, cambridge layout. (the shop details are on the ninja thread and in ur visitor msg's).
What I meant by oil, is some special oil. I thought there would be non-sticky ones.
Looking at the smiley, I thought so.Originally posted by satyenpoojary View PostTibby: When was the last time you saw me joking...err.. atleast about such stuff!
Oil = Muck magnet!
Yeah right... Vodka is anything better and easier than arranging for a potato
RainX - Over priced, hard to find product. Potatoes are cheaper!
Will try the potato trick once. Lets see how it fares.
Can't keep wiping the visor when riding in the rain man, so asked.Originally posted by Coplay@180 View PostTibby, ur asking for too much dude
Buy a nice Microfibre cloth and hide it somewhere in ur R15 and use that to wipe the Visor
How much is this overpriced product priced at?Originally posted by rdna View PostDid think about this : Clear Vue Rain Repellent | Thought it is kind of overpriced. Probably heading there over this weekend to pick up Turtle Wax and stuff. We can go there together if you are interested

P.S: I use a 3M fog demister for the inside of the visor , to prevent it fogging up , incase ur lids don't have a breath deflector or an air vent ( mine doesn't
)... it works okay ...It costs Rs.260. Not sure if it is worth it. @Nand-How much is the 3M thingy and where did you buy it from?Originally posted by tibby View PostHow much is this overpriced product priced at?
Doesn't alcohol damage the plastic? Also, for how long have you been trying the potato trick?Originally posted by satyenpoojary View PostChances are once you use a potato, you will never use anything else

Hello... i was only joking. Dont try this on your visor. Dont waste good alcohol.Originally posted by rdna View PostDoesn't alcohol damage the plastic?
The only time i'd like alcohol while riding, is when my engine can run on it. Alcohol powered crotch rocket.Originally posted by satyenpoojary View PostI will never let alcohol near me while riding... especially when back here cops sniff you for cheking (I know vodka doesnt have a odour)
Wax polish is not recommended. It will cause the plastic to become glazed and affect visibility.Originally posted by anirudh fz1 View Postguys u can use waxpol polish ,it repels water as well as clearing out the scrathesATGATT - Because hospital ceilings are boring !!!

LS2 Phobia
I have made up my mind for buying LS2 Phobia. I checked major stores here in Hyderabad (AdventureOnTheRocks , few helmet stores in Somajigudda etc.) but couldn't find one. Thinking of getting it from Mumbai,Pune or Bangalore(via friends) . Can anyone point to reliable LS2 dealers having Phobia and the least price I need to shell out. Plus does Phobia come with extra visor .
