Hi guys. This is my 1st post here at xbhp.com. My budget is around 3k. I am on the look out for a helmet that has style and most importantly high on safety. At present I have checked out some LS2 and Vega helmets. At AdventureOnTheRocks in Madhapur the guy quoted 4.5k and 5.1k for the two designs of LS2 helmets(sorry dont remember the name or model no
) and at Biking Terminal in Somajiguda the least priced LS2 one was around 3.3k and Vega boolean with design was quoted at 2250 . In both the stores LS2 had an ECE certificate sticker(not embossed into the helmet
) and an ISI certified print at the side. My question is:
1)Why such a price difference in the two stores in what looked like the same model? Is it good to spend so much on an ISI certified helmet?
2)I am really confused between modular and full faced helmets. Both has its advantages but I have read that in an event of a crash modular helmets tend to give away because its essentially made of 2 separate pieces. Should I decide the type of helmet design solely based on this vulnerability? The only modular helmet that I have checked is he vega boolean. How good is its quality? And what about whistling at high speeds??(I drive mostly in cities and might go for an occasional ride on the highway. My speeds are 40-60kmph and maximum of 80-100 kmph when the roads are empty).
3)Am i missing some other good models in my price range? Also please suggest some other good helmet stores in Hyderabad that has a decent collection of helmets.
And btw I am using a studds basic model black helmet at present
. Its just that it doesn't suit my new white RTR180

. i have a budget of max. 5000 bucks. i am interested in ls2 from vega...but here people say its heavy and pain in neck is too much...please help me out. i would be grateful if someone can give me address from where i can buy it in delhi???
