LS2 is a good helmet but its a full face. You might face alittle difficulty in using glasses. The price reange starts from Rs.2000.00.

Whereas Boolean is a flip off, so you can easily use your glasses.

    • Ok I need help..... Earlier I used to use the sparx gran torino helmet. Recently thought about an upgrade and now don't know what to do. I'll explain why. Once me and a friend went to pick up a balaclava for him and the only place we could find it was at J.C.Road (oh I stay in blore) once there the shop guy told me the same helmet was cheaper there. I had picked mine for 5000 and this guy states that he sold it for 3500. Is there something wrong here or ??. Both were DOT certified and both had all the ear plug and other accessories and full cases. So now do I go back to the helmet dealer above Orion Yamaha opposite to forum Koramangala or to J.C.Road ?? And is there something in the same standards by either AGV or KBC which I can consider as well ???

I havent't used LS2, so no comments on it(the prev one was just a thought though). Am using Boolean comfortably. The best part is the inner coloured visor eliminates the need of sunglasses in daytime.

Did you go to the 1st helmet shop/the largest helmet shop in jc road that's near that junction where SBI is???
You can get original items there,in Orion motors you can't bargain while there you can bargain so as to get the best price. And also there is a Rossi replica AGV helmet. I don't think they sell KBC helmets though, for that you'll have to go to Orion motors. You may can check out Helmet Paradise in lalbagh road.

Yup that's the shop I went to. Ok taking the advice with belief then. And btw I saw the Rossi helmet but they were charging somewhere around 20 for that... Also saw another one there(above Orion) full chrome design with a yin yang on top that was for 15000 and yes the Orion one has mattfinish KBC starting from 19k. Anyways thanks for the suggestion I'll certainly try the lalbagh place tomorrow.

                • Check online prices before you buy the same helmet from India. There is no point in paying a bomb for a regular helmet. I got my KBC on a closeout sale for $ 75 which is pretty reasonable compared to the Rs 7 - 12 k that they ask for KBC / Sparx in India. And do a quick search on this thread for the two brands. People have bought those helmets from Orion & JC road.

                              • Reading the posts above where the same helmet ranges from 2K to 5.5K in different places, doesn't it make anyone wonder why there is such a difference?

We are all so busy trying to get a bargain that nobody looks at the background.

While differing retail prices are common in such an unregulated market, the difference at best should not be more than a few hundred bucks.

Here's some facts to ponder - import duties, CIF, etc., is about 40% of invoice value. Distribution channels traditionally demand at least 40% (distributor - dealer - reseller). We can safely assume that the manufacturer in China has to have at least 20% margin for his trouble. Given that 100% of an "imported" items cost will be under these heads, does it seem plausible that a quality helmet could actually cost only about 1000 bucks? (Assuming a 2K retail price)

Given the above facts, it seems highly likely that the 'el cheapo' units are fake, don't you think?

In our constant endeavour to get something cheap - we constantly throw common sense to the winds - we may as well be wearing plastic buckets on our heads rather than these cosmetically similar fakes.

My advice to the guy who got a high quote - contact the authorised distributor - Vega - for the right price and authorised retail point.

My advice to the guy who picked up the cheapest version - take a good hard look at what you're wearing and trusting to protect your noggin...... who knows, maybe the shop-keeper took a liking to you and actually sold you a genuine article for less than cost!

                                ---------------------------------------------------------------------

In a universe of men and machines, there is an individual who achieves the purest confluence of both worlds where he and the machine must become one - He is The Biker!
