Lijo's suggestion is very apt IMO. The Laplace is a good bag. That said, I dont like carrying stuff on my back over long rides (except my Camelbak), so I prefer tank-bags and tail-bags. I believe that the RYNOX tail-bag is worth looking at - perhaps you could check it out too?

I honestly do not believe that anyone is so tight on his wallet that they would buy this in lieu of a decent jacket. Something is better than nothing but in this case, not by much.

Any kind of fall off your bike is likely to cost you more damage than Rs 1199/-. Buying this kind of cheap and low quality stuff is being penny-wise, pound foolish.

Joe Rocket, my friend, is a tried and tested brand. You can look for other brands like Icon, AGV Sport, Tour Master, etc online. Try the closeout deals, you might get even an A* at your price.

But having said that, I'd suggest you hit a store and try the jacket out before buying. Because very few things can be more annoying than an ill-fitting jacket flapping around at triple digit speeds. Also, given the current dollar to rupee rate, I personally don't think getting it from outside makes much sense. But then, that's me.

earlier had GPR mesh jacket which done its duty for almost 4 years and still going strong... but wanted new one without mesh and full textile.

Thanks for the pointer as I am looking for a jacket for hi way tours only I guess a mesh jacket with rain liner can help.I have seen only helios in flesh need to know about other options as well.

I never carry the bag on my back myself. I strap it down to the back seat with bungee cords.

head to tardeo and visit PRS and Bachho motors. PRS has all the droolworthy(read expensive) stuff.Joe rockets, icons(I fell for the hooligan etched there and the joe rocket fallout), AGVsport and the works. Their website has a complete listing.
Bachho motors stocks Rjays. Swift and Octane. Not sure if they have other brands.
Just ride on the Sion Panvel highway past dadar and you'll be home.
If you want budget Indian brands, then you can check out cramsters, stocked by "the outdoor travel gear store" at GD Ambedkar marg, Wadala (022 24122030)and
Adventure 18, Jehangir Daji Lane, Grant Road(022 23803102).

Scoyco and Spartan Pro gear stuff can be checked out at AH Helmets,Oshiwara. They now stock Rynox travel gears too

I don't have much idea where DSG Jackets are available in Mumbai.
In Navi Mumbai, Babloo Motors Vashi is the 'authorized dealer'. Last time I checked, they only had the DSG Falcon' jacket. Nothing else.
