Got hold of the Spartan Ares full gauntlet leather gloves from B.P.Roadies, Calcutta. The leather looks and feels very good & supple too. The fit is impressive too. Haven't started riding with just yet. Initial impressions about the product is good. We really can't crib about a gauntlet under 100$.
Thanks for the affordable products Sunnyside_up!You can take the ride away from me but you cannot take the rider out of my soul.........

Will do that. Thanks again for a quick response. :-)Originally posted by Sunnyside_up! View PostIf you want more info on the Spartan products, write in to the helpdesk - . The Support Team there is pretty efficient.
You could also check out Cramster as I think they have a ladies jacket in the same price range. No idea about the features though. You can get their contact details from their site.

At your price tag, there isn't much riding gear available buddy. As the minimum starts at 5k. Personally congratulate for the very idea for protecting both your GF and yourself, which in itself is gonna give you more brownie points. CoolOriginally posted by kariznin View PostHi Guys
I am planning to get basic ride gear for my GF as we are planning to go for a inter state ride coming Friday. So, just planning to get a Helmet and a comfy jacket for her.
Budget is a little constraint here. For jacket & helmet around 3K each. At max i can strech my budget to around 7K for both.
Please provide your suggestions.

You can get yourself Scoyco. Though it comes in at around 4k, your max budget will be 8k give or take. Currently his website is down. Here is his contact number. You can contact regarding your riding gear.

Quite a lot of good jackets in 10k bracket. Almost all summer jackets come with waterproof liner, and provided most guys go for the vented ones with removable liner for our climate and usage.Originally posted by vikhyath View PostHi all,
I'm considering buying a jacket for the winter and would like it to have water resistance as well, some sort of vents wouldn't hurt, too. What are the different options I can get for around Rs. 10,000 and which is the best brand you would suggest. Brand value doesn't hold importance for me as long as the product quality is good. I'm considering DSG Triton for now since it has removable warm lining and impact protectors but it's still an amateur decision. Please educate me about the different products and the benefits at this range.
Thanks.
Alpinestars, Joe Rocket, RJays, Cramster etc are almost a few brands which provide good stuffs at reasonable prices. And I've placed the names in order of pricing.
I'd suggest you go for RJays Octane for a starter, at 7.5k. Add in 1k more you get Alpinestars T-GP Air which is one a superb jacket at a reasonable price point. I'd personally suggest you to check out the Alpinestars T-GP Air. Uber cool jacket, and exceptional quality. By far the best stuff I've worn and seen in person.
At least at 1k more than the RJays and other a few more than other jackets. It absolutely gives you a peace of mind and shelf life expectancy.
You can wait. If they're likely in good mood, they can bring out good offers. So why don't you consider this as a waiting period for something good.Originally posted by nastrofaction View PostGuys,
Am looking for a alpinestar jacket, I am based in Pune, though have no issues if its available in Delhi as well.
DSG doesn't have a* in stock right now, and i need it before Diwali.
Any pointers shall be highly appreciated.

The girl said, 'NO!'

Planning to buy Rynox Optimus M tank bag for my Karizma. Anyone here using it on Karizma? Would like to know feedback about this bag on Karizma. And is it really worth spending 3k on this tank bag? How is the durability and quality compared to Cramster? And, I am fully aware of the functionality and features of the RYNOX tankbag.

Used the RYNOX Optimus M for the Ladakh ride. Bought a brand new Cramster, for the same reason, no space. Sold it, bought this one. VERY VERY VERY BOOTYLYCIOUS. Very spacious, very sturdy, excellent quality. Yes, has a little premium attached to it, but considering the other bags out there, it's completely bang for the buck.Originally posted by ravi@17bhp View PostPlanning to buy Rynox Optimus M tank bag for my Karizma. Cramster is like, the jack of all trades, it's been used, ripped, raped by many Ladakhers. So the decision is yours.
Which brand are these? Are these locally manufactured or any "cult biking groups'" gloves?Originally posted by ravisawalia View Post

Haha, I never bought it buddy. I just get to use it for free from some nice minded souls. (god bless those of my friends). I think when it comes to weight, it's a little lighter, that's what I felt. Don't know whether I had some energetic stuff or healthy food that day, that gave me the energy. But the jacket was light. The fit was perfect. The only thing I didn't like was the logo, could have been a embroidered than the dye based one.
Usability wise, I felt the same as I felt using my RJays Octane, which I sold long back. (OTHERS: Don't start a brand war here, or shove down your views, it's just my view) But it's just something about the A* name that goes crazy. Makes you stand out as a matured rider!
Cheers!

For winters there are different types of gloves which have quill fillings inside the same leather glove. These types of leather gloves can be seen worn by HD and all those thumpers for the most part abroad and now even in India.
They type of gloves are a tad cheaper than a proper road gloves and it's basically just a skin-over-your-skin protection.
You can get these from anyone who deals with high quality leather stuffs, jackets, pants etc. Not the daily guy who retails it. But who knows, you might get some good things in unlikely places. So just go hunting..
Cheers!
