I can see fasteners on the waist band. Can't they be used to fasten the hip area?

For most, a jacket with a wind liner would fit the bill. But if you really are a cold weather rider or the place you live has frequent temperature drips, then you might want to consider an "all weather" jacket.

But the way Spartan ProGear has been doing things, it's a sureshot way of good things to come.

Well I was not able to figure out your point from the above.

Since Bangalore will start raining from April and I like to make small rides in night, I was wondering to get all in one jacket.

Buy your choice of jacket wid safety and get a wind-cheater.
That's the most convenient & cheap I think.

I don't think any rising jacket can serve you for months of rain.
And if its 4-5k worth jacket, you'll care for it too. Right ?

So get a simple wind-cheater for 200-300 bucks. And say "Rain rain come again".

That's great. Mind you, even an all-season jacket would surely seep water in heavy rain, so it's not a 100% sureshot solution, you'd either have to wear a rain liner over the jacket or a rain coat, just in case to be 100% waterproof. Though there are 100% waterproof jackets which are real costly and mostly sold overseas, though it'd cost a fortune if you were to source it to India.

If you are referring to "all season" as a rain wear only, you can use a basic jacket, if you want additional thermal liner for real cold seasons then an "all season" would be your best bet.

          Cheers!

Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl 'Will you marry me?'
          The girl said, 'NO!'

And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.

          THE END

            Why don't u try Riding Paints ?
I looked at some pics online, and they look exactly like the AXO's with no fibre at the corners. Could you please put up pics of yours and share where you get them from ? The main reason I haven't looked at riding pants or ordered better pads online is that I want to be able to try them and check the fit before I get them. Thanks !

Over the pant knee guards are meant for motor cross or low speeds at best and are not designed for a high speed get off but many use them for lack of better choice.

Definitely not my place to opine on your selection, but didn't your wife want her ladies jacket to look girly? I only ask because the Helios sizing is based on the men's formal shirt sizes. The bulging of the jacket at the hips (waist) is because women have curves that we don't (thank God ) and the material is loose since the cut was for a male anatomy. The Aphrodite ladies jacket on the other hand has adjustment straps at the back just above the waist that allow customisation of the ladies fit - my wife uses one.

Also, are stocks readily available or do I have to pre-order? ?........And why should one opt or this over a Helios?
The Spartan Helios jackets supplied with KNOX armour are labelled externally and also the armours themselves have the KNOX logo embossed on them. Trust me you cannot mistake them for anything else! SPG has opted for the premium KNOX FlexiForm Type B which is the largest and thickest size for better coverage and impact protection, and all this info is also marked on the protectors.

Vijay has already explained the primary difference that the HYPERION offers, i.e the premium perforated leather plus it has additional protection on the sides of the torso. It also comes with KNOX as the standard armour.

I think that HellsFury was referring to the waist. The Helios does have waist adjustment but since it is being used by a lady, will not be able to so the same job.

The Helios rain liner is not just a plastic sheet. It is a separate garment that is constructed like a windcheater cum rain liner with an inner mesh layer that will both serve to keep you slightly warm while also dry. It can also be used completely on its own as a stand alone jacket.

Nope, she did not really like the patterns on the Aphrodite but wanted to see it personally before deciding. The Aphrodite was not in stock at that time so we went ahead and bought the Helios itself for her too. And when she tried it out, the fit was OK despite it not being a ladies jacket

Yes exactly! I meant the waist adjustment straps that are present on the back in the Aphrodite but not the Helios.

That makes it a lot easier, though I'm sure I'll take a peek under the jacket and check the armours. I haven't personally seen a jacket with Knox armours, hence I was anxious.
The Hyperion sounds very enticing, is it possible to share the complete specs and features as I understand you're waiting for the photoshoot to be done? Wanted to know what's the difference in weight between the two and how that would affect the comfort...

Perhaps Sunny can add some thoughts too, but I guess, (personally me waiting for the Hyperion too) leather and textile should weight a tad more than the textile primarily for two reasons, leather in and of itself is heavy. So the more leather you add, the bulkier it gets, but the difference shouldn't be that much significant, but yes there is a difference. Leather is basically for protection and comfort isn't added into the factor as a prime motive, but yes what's protection without comfort, it does have comfort component to it.

My guess would be that either the HYPERION would resemble close to DSG Maze, if not even better offering 75% leather and 25% textile or 50-50 but it'd be my blind guess. But if it's 75% and offered at the price point Sunny had mentioned, it'd be such a valuable proposition to miss out, would give many local competitors a tough fight.

If I am not wrong, I asked the same question to Sunny ji and it was in the range of 500~1000 buck range, though I think it was 500 bucks more, bad memory you see.

But I wish Sunny ji, details a page with the current portfolio with prices for the add-ons which would clear some great deal of air.

                        Cheers!

I remember Sunny sir saying it is 700 bucks more so that makes it 6,200 plus local taxes.

OT but you should not be paying extra for any payment when you swipe your credit / debit card at any shop. It is a charge that the merchant is supposed to bear and you are well within your rights to refuse. Here is a link to a thread I had created a long time back on this

NJ is spot on. Have faced the same issue with many resellers. They say, sir, if you swipe card, we'll be liable for transcation fees, so that will be added to your purchase. I was like what?? 53 odd something was the item I was about to purchase. But then later went to an ATM nearby and paid in cash for good.

It's absolutely the merchant who has to bear the card expenses, as it's his machine and his transaction, but a lot of times, I've been asked to do so, and reverted to ATMs. Very good point NJ has brought up here.

                                Cheers!
