  • Krissh, This is what happens when people are less informed. :P

I had seen the review of the AGV pair at Revzilla and thought it is such a good buy, guess i was ignorant.

And that is exactly why i love this place.

    Thanks

Take a look at the Komine gear, I got a pair of gloves from their dealer in Delhi, very nice gloves, shit loads of protection and features for the price point, also very good quality, shame I have ridden much since I bought them.
Beware of Bread, don't say I didn't warn you!
More than 98 percent of convicted criminals are bread eaters !
Statistics show that more than 75 % of violent crimes are committed within 24 hours of eating bread !
Bread is known to be extremely addictive. Subjects deprived of bread and given only water, actually begged for bread after just two days !
Bread has been proven to kill. Scientists have now uncovered alarming evidence that 100% of the people who eat bread will eventually die !

Please do post some photos of it and some review that'd be so helpful, Stefanm.

Yo!! Thanks for the heads up mate, I am thinking against AGV now.... will research a bit more on it today.

Its an offence if you were calling my p220 a cycle in anyway....

        I am kidding

        cheers.
Haha, nope. 220 a cycle? I would definitely kill myself if I were to say that being owning one, just for that elite group!

        Cheers!

        • Hi,
1.Im looking for leather pants. A dealer called up from Pakistan and had given me specs and photos and the best part is it costs only 82$.Should i go for it? Actually i was looking for good knee guards but this deal is too irresistable. One more thing, will this pant attach to my spartan helios?
2.I need gloves for short city spins.I currently have cramster trg2 and they are very good but need something small and quick.and Cheap.suggest something below 1k. How are those probiker gloves?

P.S. Helios is a boon in mumbai heat.

Leather pants offer the best protection but in the Mumbai climate I wonder how practical they might be. I have a pair too, and trust me when I say they'll leave your family jewels stewing! the zipper on the pants need to match the zipper on the jacket in order to connect. Since every brand uses its own spec of zipper, the chances are remote but who knows - maybe you'll get lucky!

Pakistan actually makes some of the best motorcycle garments in the world. There are numerous companies in Pakistan which supply to many top global motorcycle riding gear brands in the world.

With no domestic market for these riding gears, they actually survive and thrive by exporting.

+1 to payeng's comment. Pakistan, if not, to unknown eyes, even manufactures goods to many international non-motorcycle apparel companies too and it's just rebranded and sold at exorbitant prices.

I've seen many local pakistani sites offering custom made biking gear, full suits, jackets, pants, paraphernalia, and some name too. And reading through their certificates, they have so called world class certificates to attest themselves.

And compared to the prices of other jackets, they aren't cheap neither costly just in the ballpark of affordable.

Darn I forgot that site name, it had whole bunch of offerings, all kick ass liveries

                Cheers!

I wouldn't be surprised if some of them are sold in India as well

Absolutely, sweat shop leather jackets, I own one including myself bought it for 2.2K three years back, seen rain, slush, summer anything nature can throw at it, still going super strong. Top it all it came with YKK GAP zippers, which I find it even amazing. Trust me you will find super good zippers and stuff in real sweat shop leather jackets, and excellent collections of shoes and the craftsmanship too is nothing inferior, just some blotches, here and there, obvious leather cliche

If they were just to retail the same stuff which sells for 1.5k, fetches 5k easily and even more depending on the branding.

                      Sigh!

                      Cheers!

Sorry bud, I didn't even see your question pop up, I was answering another buddy's question. I think Sunny answered you question well and apt. But just my two cents, if you really would bear the heat then you can go ahead and wear leather apparel. Or if you want comfort and protection and practicality, go for knee pads or limb tubes, though the latter is a tad costlier, well worth the buck.

                        Cheers!

I wouldn't be surprised if some of our desi riding gear brands source their stuff from Pakistan. As far as I know there is no industry in India which makes riding gear stuff.

If possible try to speak with the guys who might know better.

You play hide and seek, payeng, you know where they all get it sourced from. Take PGS gear for example, they all manufacture their entire range in Pakistan, including their leather wrist band.

You got one point wrong, by jackets I bought, I didn't mean riding jacket with proper armor etc. It's the plain, tan jacket. All these are manufactured in Pondicherry where there is specifically an area of tanneries loaded with sweatshops. Not proper riding jacket, more or less, say like a punk riding jacket. And one of my friend resells them here in Ooty, I've bought numerous things for my friends, GF etc. The same would cost fortunes if they were just inside a glass with fancy lighting, at least for the quality I've seen they offer.

I've even told him to venture into motorcycling apparel once, and making a custom made glove for me. The latter is in the plan at least, I hope but the former was laughed at the moment I told him the idea.

TR11G is being used by many folks here, and have gotten good reviews.

                              • My dsg motomesh gloves got worn out in just 2months. The holes in the palm and fingers got bigger and now its tearing apart. Need new gloves for daily usage :what:. Pls suggest some good ones within Rs.2k which are reliable and can hold on longer.
