For 25,000 you've very good deals abroad, and here in India too. You can consider those closeout sales in jackets in many online stores, like AGV, Speed and Strength else you can consider getting AGV jackets/pants from PRS though they are a tad costlier you can be rest assured they are genuine stuff. Second up you have lots of good options for helmets in India, but you don't have the different liveries that the overseas folks offer. And avoid helmets in the closeout section, they are usually old stock or haven't gotten that good reviews. But if your friend in abroad is a little picky from shops he can get real super deal for $500, including the helmet, jacket glove, perhaps the boot might go a little overboard, but then again if he's picky you'll get it.Originally posted by Sanchit Arora View Post
VJ ! Thanx for the input I appreciate it..
A little background, was looking for a suit that I might use say twice a year when headed to one of the tracks down south.. AGV is super class stuff with a pricetag above my budget...
Fieldsheer gloves.. WOW
looks amazing... and decently priced too...
Boots, I've been using DMS Military Boots until now.. SMX2 looks tempting though I'm not sure if I want the long ones or short ones...
I went out today to a couple of stores, could only try gloves and I understood that you cant really choose till the time you try... Tried DSG Primal, Cramster TRG2.. Like Felt the difference between the sizes and fitting... Liked cramster more.. But don't know how to be sure of the size when ordering online..
I was thinking to invest say 400-500$ in the riding gear as the time's less...and the rupee is still down...
Still confused as so many choices but cant try any, so everything looks the same and it all comes down to make the most of it... So would really appreciate if you could help...
Currently owned :
HJC Helmet
LS2 Riding Jacket
Cross Mesh Gloves
Knee guards (AXO Copy)
DMS Boots
Budget as mentioned above... Now you suggest from your experience what should I get ?
So I'd suggest you get your jacket and helmet from abroad and you can get the glove and boots from here.
If you have any quality issues return to them for more info, if you don't like the fit, ask them for a different size, they'd be happy to oblige. You can try in the addressses below.Originally posted by mulli84 View PostIm from Chennai and I need to know where can I get gloves for touring. First off, let's start from head, because that's where all the good and bad decisions come from, but heck, that's an important organ to take care of. First off, if you're planning to get a helmet, never ever look for those dirt bike helmets, those VEGA ones etc. If you're trying to get a helmet, for *street* riding, get yourself a good full face helmets. The pros and cons of a full face far outweigh that of a dirt bucket. Good full face helmets start from 2900 to all the way upto 60,000Originally posted by michaeljohnson View PostHello xbhp'ians
I am from Chennai. And I need basic riding gears for daily and touring or long drive purpose.
Kindly can give a update what to and what not
I have only a west helmet which was bought for 1200.rs
Thank you
it is not always about CC but also about kmpl
Second off, motorcycle jacket. this is needed because you have impact protection in your shoulders, elbows, back coupled with good leather gloves provide utmost protection in case if you take a spill. Motorcycle jackets start from 5000 all the way upto 30,000.
Third one is glove, as explained earlier, a good leather glove is imperative as with any thing that involves riding, as leather resists tear/abrastion far better than textile. A good decent pair of *leather* gloves start from 1900 to all the way upto 15k.
Fourth is riding boot, a happy foot is a happy rider, make sure you get good quality boot which serves as a dual purpose both rainy/sunny all weather, which will protect your foot and ankle in case of fall. Boots range start from 5k to 30k.
Fifth is budget, make sure you save around 20k for a good set of riding gear.
Now where? Here.

Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl 'Will you marry me?'
The girl said, 'NO!'
And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.

re: Universal : Riding Gear Thread
Got these from DSG few days back.

The gloves and boots are very good. Both need some breaking in before it fits you. So I just put these on and did some usual motions that we do on a motorcycle. Tried these on for a short ride today and felt great. As this is the first time I ever tried riding gloves and riding boots, it was a bit weird to ride the bike at first. But once you start riding for a few kms, you get used to it. One thing that I noticed was that with the gloves, you don't feel as much vibration as you would without them. In fact I felt none after I put on these.
The boots felt a bit weird at first too. Although these are not meant for walking, they were doing fine. Not extremely uncomfortable that you have to remove them to walk. Although I don't recommend it if you are going to walk for a long distance. Felt a bit strange shifting gears and braking with the boots on, but just like the gloves, you will get used to it in time.
Will post a detailed review when I try these on for longer rides.2013 R15(Sold) | 2014 Duke 390 (Sold) | 2022 Adv 390 | 2022 Ninja 300

Won't work if your phone has capacitive touch screen that doesn't support stylus input.
Do inform me if you got some other idea as I am too suffering from same problem & its irritating specially while using navigation.
OT: Don't know why Nokia didn't gave gloves support touch to the high end Lumias while the base Lumia 520 got it.
