Capacitive or resistive, heck it doesn't work when you need the most. You'll feel like a monkey fiddling with a cola can. But sometimes it does, all it needs is a good contact patch, leather is really good at it. Instead of pointing the tip of the glove, try swiping it flat surface of your finger, immediately below the tip, it works fine for me. But at times, it bugs. But 80% of the time it works.

    Cheers!

Wow. It works with the thumb flat on the screen mostly 80% of the time. Not good response with smaller icons but the lumias big tiles are accepting it and that should do for me. Thanks for the help VJ.

So, after much research & help from Universal Riding Gear Thread members ( especially VJ & Sunnyside), i brought some Teknic riding gear when my mom went to states. The reason why i got Teknic was they had some really VFM products within my price range. Overall, i brought these & giving their review

        Teknic Supermesh Jacket
Man, i love this jacket. This jacket is basically a mesh jacket with condura/textile on arms side along with Knox armor in shoulder pad & elbow and foam at certain areas. The jacket is very breezy and i vouch for them as i stood in a queue for almost 1 hour with almost no discomfort. Since the mesh is perforated in underarm sides, there are changes of rain sweep-age in which case, we can use the liner that is included along with it. The liner comes with velcro for easy installing & removal. The jacket comes with a zipper to attach with supermesh pants & the zipper can be removed in case we don't want to use it

        Supermesh pants
I haven't had much opportunity to test them but they seem good & strap with the jacket. They also have Knox armor at knee while foam padding at hips(knox upgradeable). Again like jacket, it consist of both mesh & Dual layers of Cordura in knees, hips & seat. The liner again is easy velcro install & remove.

One interesting thing is that the armor in them feel fit & don't feel misplaced. It must be because of their Multi-Position System or something.

Along with them, i also got the Teknic Chicane full gauntlet gloves ( a previous review is already present) & Teknic waterproof short street boots. Both take some time to get used or break into. The shoe feels comfortable once worn & feel sturdy besides adding some height as well ( gud for me ). The aluminum sliders are removable & somewhat help but cud hurt someone in slippers, so be careful(happened to a friend). Overall, i am happy with them though wish i had brought Teknic Lightening glove instead ( Chicane seem street oriented while Lightening seem track oriented) but they fit right into my budget without burning a hole in my pocket.

Also shown are my Forcefield limb tubes ( didnt know abt SPG's limb tubes back then). The limb tubes are absolutely light & comfy( literally did a day in college with them & boots). The Limb tubes are easy to wear/remove and have velcro straps and once you wear them, you will almost forget that you wore (i once checked my knee once to confirm i still had them there)

Thus, that concludes my review & special thanx to revzilla for their closeout deals

Excellent going there, Aditya. I was wondering where did you go all of a sudden from the thread, and now you're back with a bang. All red stuff, my favorite color and white boots super-combo.

Do post us some close up shots of the glove, but all in excellent going. KUDOS!

          Cheers!

Thanx, actually i was just around and wud snoop in every now and then but always forgot to put my reviews up. Anyway, here are the close ups

Sory, one of them got slight wuzzy. The gloves are supposed to be a mix of cow and goat hide (the inner side seem to be goat hide and is kinda soft to touch). Interestingly, the lightening glove has a wrist knox fall protector that this one lacks but the padding seem to be gud and has padding along the thumb and little finger sides. I also have been getting an aweful lot of stares (some appreciated while some went wtf) while traffic guys seem to ignore me, so after sometime i go like waddup, man and stare them back :briggin:

PS - Red is my fav color too. its actually a safe color like yellow thus making it quick to spot and react (excludin color blind ppl)

Teknic Supervent Mesh Jacket - $125 [Teknic Supervent Mesh Jacket - RevZilla]
( when i brought it, Revzilla had sold out all stocks. So, had to source from elsewhere. If you are batman fan then the brown/black one makes you luk like one )

Teknic Supervent Mesh pants - $ 90 [Teknic Supervent Mesh Pants - RevZilla]
( it was cheaper due to closeout offer. Strangely, it costlier now )

Teknic Chicane glove - $21 [Teknic Chicane Gloves - RevZilla]
(same as Supervent mesh pants. If you are track oriented or want better protection, the Teknic lightening is very good but costly at $50-60 but are VFM)

Forcefield Limb tube - $80 [Forcefield Limb Tubes - RevZilla]
( this was costly investment as Knox & SPG has similar product at around 2k-3k but forcefield is like alpinestar & may charge extra but the quality is top notch as i almost took a fall while wearing these and was not hurt yet these are amazingly light )

Revzilla has their closeout deals going on right now but the prices have changed. I got it from them as they were close to where my mom was staying & their deals with 30 day no questions asked return policy along with the exchange rate back then was less & gud. Also, plz check the sizes as some are sized US or European sized (teknic uses european sizing so its kinda closer to our sizes but better safe then sorry). Another seller is Sportbike Track Gear & motorcyclecloseouts but dunno how both fare.

PS - sory, guys. i know i am not supposed to talk abt helmets here but checkout this tron inspired Shark Evoline 3 ST Moovit Lumi Helmet for $337.46 [Shark Evoline 3 ST Moovit Lumi Helmet - RevZilla]
Seems like a novelty as the neon like paint is supposed to be nontoxic & shines for 2hr after exposure to light

                    • JCB Excavator

                      JCB Excavator Shoes Review

                      Price :- Rs 1434/- ( Free Shipping )

Purchased Online from :- Safety Shoe Bazaar

                      Warranty :- 6 Months

First Impression of mine on these shoes was they are excellent fit and has great comfort levels on long time use too and it is definitely VFM product.

                      Specifications:-

                      Ankle Boots

                      Padded Bellow Tongue

                      Full Grain Textured Leather Upper

Imported 200J EN12568 Steel Toe Cap

                      Quick Sweat absorbing Mesh Lining

Padded Collar and Padded Bellow Tongue

                      Heat Resistant 150 degrees centigrade

Oil and Chemical Resistant Antistatic Sole

                      Anti Slip sole SRC

                      Light Weight & Comfortable.

There are many more specs given about this product but these are few important ones.

They ship it free all over India via DTDC

Using them daily since the day i have got them and i have felt that they are too comfortable on long durations too. While riding my CBR250R initially i faced a little bit difficult while shifting-up the gears as am not used to a steel toe shoe earlier but in a day or two i got used to it and they look good on jeans pants too.

These are Ankle length boots and i have Woodland boots too of this length which i used to wear earlier for riding purpose and these fall little shorter in length when compared to my woodland when kept side by side. But i felt the comfort levels are too high on these JCB rather than on my Woodland. I could feel some cushion feeling on these JCB's while walking . JCB guys claim these shoes are 100% water proof and i have got a chance to test them in rains while riding my bike. I must say that these are not completely water proof as the layer beneath the laces is not made of leather , it is not holding water for a longer duration in heavy rains. This is the only location from where the water ( may ) enter during longer usage in rains.

I found a solution for this , by placing a polythene cover layer under the laces while riding in rains.

Laces are too long and the portion which you see beneath the laces is the only area from where the water may enter into the boots if you happen to ride long duration in heavy rains( shorter durations its holding well ). So try to place a polythene cover under it and it ll prevent water entering into shoes to some extent.

So i give them 4.5/5 rating. On seeing my shoes 3 of my friends ordered these shoes as these hold that much tempting price tag

My next purchase would be JCB Combator which i feel are pretty good during long rides ( these are in production as of now and these hold a price tag of Rs 2790/- )
                      JCB Footwear :: INDIA ::

So i want to conclude here by saying : These are not riding shoes but can be used for that purpose without any problem and they too offer some good amount of protection as they are built to handle some touch situations.

Excellent, Sandeep Patnala. But I don't see any difference between them and the most common steel toe, but the COMBATER is just beautiful.

What abt the JCB rider. Is it also water-proof & steel toed. Design wise, i wud say it seems pretty functional

I've never worn the specific or know much about the JCB Rider boots, but all I can say is I have seen exact replica shoes similar to this in my hometown, lots of it. And it's just upper braced half ankle boot. It's not so good for touring as such, but yea, it's a shoe after all, it depends on how you use it.

                            Cheers!

Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl 'Will you marry me?'
                            The girl said, 'NO!'

And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.

                            THE END

Hmm.what do you say, Sandeep patnala. While i am very happy with my teknic street boots, i was thinking abt a spare waterproof boot for normal purposes other than my weekender boots to which the jcb rider boots seem gud

Today i have tested these JCB Excavator shoes in extreme rain. I found that the water is entering into the shoes through the tongue part. If your pant is long enough to cover the tongue it can prevent water entering into the shoe.

By the way Can you please post some more pics of your riding pant along with the rain liner. I liked it very much & also tell me one more thing, are riding boots must and should when u wear your riding pant ! coz i see near the ankle its getting too tapered !
