While waiting at signals and in stop n go traffic you'll sweat(I guess with every jacket you'll feel the same).

For full gauntlet gloves, you can checkout Spartan experience store at ECR for spartan ares and velavan motors for cramster and rynox products.
I have found the sweating in stops , unless it is really hot , like 36-38 degree or more, you do not sweat that much, and this is coming from a person who sweats like a pig..!!! So it is indeed a exceptional product when summer riding is concerned.

True. Summers are bad in chennai & whenever I commute in chennai, during stop n go traffic I end up soaking my inner vest while riding with hyperion on.
But doesn't happen if there is moving traffic.

For Gauntlet gloves, i remember a similar query, so try searching in this thread.tc

Please elaborate as I too thought that cowhide wad the only option if one wanted safety...

Leather has different categories, a single piece of cow hide can be separated in so many categories from hard to soft yet supple leather. Now, goatskin isn't anyway inferior to cowhide. Cowhide by default is slightly stronger fiber to fiber and it shows, and offers significantly improved abrasion resistance, that's why you have leather in mm which are thicker and heavier. If you've seen brands like AGV, and Tecknic did indeed manufacture products out of goatskin for both gloves and jacket.

Goathide on the other hand, is a very good, addition so does Kangaroo leather, they both can be reinforced to be stronger than cowhide, and the latter provides excellent abrasion resistance, but also significantly costly as compared to cowhide. Cowhide is all round, cheaper than goat, and other skin. Here at least in my hometown, I can get a cowhide jacket for 3k while a goat skin costs 4.5k and upwards.

Goatskin are still used in gloves, palms of gloves, kangaroo leather, all these stuffs are used in top notch products, not just cowhide.

The only problem with goatskin is they feel even more soft when in damp, but dries quicker, takes your body shape easily and easy to fold etc etc. Cowhide is firmer, heavier and by default thicker so both are sort of deal breakers. I just got myself a custom made leather goatskin, which I prefer personally for sheer portability, ease of use and what not.

So for jackets, yes cowhide is the best? Yes. Why? Significantly cheap to source, thicker and offers good protection. Why isn't goat skin offered? Price, because it's soft, and most would be "SCARED" to be in goat jacket rather than a cow. But at the end of the day, a good jacket with proper armor will definitely give you the protection you need. If my 4.5 year old 2.8k cow hide jacket without absolutely no armor whatsoever can save my left forarm from being alcerated. But ultimately at the end of the day, you're in a leather jacket and guess what a good armored "LEATHER" will do more good than kissing the tarmac without nothing.

              Cheers!

Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl 'Will you marry me?'
              The girl said, 'NO!'

And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.

              THE END

Need suggestion asap! I have a Duke 200 and I need a pair of gloves mainly for street riding! I'm in Delhi and it's getting pretty hot these days!
I was thinking of Thor Spectrum gloves? How good are they? or is it worth going the extra mile to get Alpinestars SMX3-Air. Plus give me a list of shops where I can find these gloves or any that you guys would suggest.

Just for city riding for the summer the Rynox Rampage is the best option, it is cheap and appropriate for city riding, plenty air circulation too.

Ok, so if price wasnt so much of a factor and safety, fit, longevity and weight (in that order) were, would you recommend a goat skin jacket? What about wearing in characterstics? Abrasion resistance?

I also doubt if local shops in bangalore can reinforce the leather.

Today got my riding jacket. Spartan helios. Apart from the poor quality of inside material all other parts are of good quality. Especially that rain liner.most impressive rain liner with superior quality.
But, i am worried about the inside material. Already happened to see 2 fresh piece of jacket with broken stitches here and there...is it common?

^^ I bought the same jacket three days back and I didn't find such faults with mine, maybe you should have checked for those while selecting the piece. And am happy about all its aspects especially the wind flow keeping you sweat free most of the time.

Nope. No such store around Halwani or anyplace nearby. Either you have to head to Dehradun(only one store here too(but has pretty good stuff... deals with pgs and cramster) or Delhi.
