Re: Universal : Riding Gear Thread
Not that I know a lot or am a senior but a senior biker who I met at a biking store told me that rider jackets would have more protection and thicker ones than pillion ones...this looks like it has thinner linings and softer protection..... Correct me if I am wrongOriginally posted by Abishek94 View PostHow do/can you differentiate between pillion and rider jacket?TuRbOsPhErE

Logically thinking, wouldn't the rider and pillion fall off the bike at the same speed and at the same place? So why should there be a difference in protection levels in the respective jackets?
Not questioning you in particular, it's for everyone

Re: Universal : Riding Gear Thread
Correct sir, but now I guess it's the logic behind usage wear and tear and impact I guess the pillion falls with back first and impact would be on the hands and spine I guess..... Besides you have given me food for thought I am going to find out why.... Also I have a spartan jacket which is totally different from this so is the dsg, rynox and Alpinestar one which are ones I have physically seenOriginally posted by Abishek94 View PostLogically thinking, wouldn't the rider and pillion fall off the bike at the same speed and at the same place? I've used them already on BIC Noida KTM event (15 March) so can't exchange them. Plus, they don't have belt hooks. They have only 2 fabric hooks on each side, on the inside and they seem useless.
Secondly, on the rear of the pants, there is a zip, does that zip fit with jackets? (My DSG Jacket is old, and it doesn't have an attachment for that zip.)
So, what can I do to use the riding pants now?
Eat more, and to fit them properly.

Re: Universal : Riding Gear Thread
If you have the armours, why not go for a custom-made one. . ? Try Biking Brotherhood Gears, get in touch with them. . . There are lots of people using their products (some superbike clubs, I guess BOLT have got it from them) and are very much happy with itOriginally posted by utsavchs View PostNeed Some suggestions about riding gear.
I have used my DSG to its extent in the last few years to the extent where it has started disintegrating now, literally. approx age of the jacket be around 6-7 years probably.
I now want to buy a jacket and am having problems with selecting one.
My budget: 10k
Requirements: Hump, chest armor slots (as in DSG, atleast they were there in the old ones) apart from the normal armor slots. I use full Alpinestar armors so that should fit. Trying to look for a semi leather jacket (ones with mesh + leather useful in warm weathers too) but ain't getting anything. My old jacket is a rare one.
Please help me.
I was ordering one Alpinestar GP Tech Air via a friend, but found out that it was probably fake as Air ones are way way way costlier. It was on sale for 300 SG$ only (some 13k INR). Real Air costs approx 40k INR or more. Just the jacket.
Need suggestion with Helmet choice:
Budget : 8k
Short Listed :
LS2 CR1 (but I wanna stay clear of LS2 unless its imported from USA. My last one was an import)
MT
I don't have much of an idea about brands, so please help. Important is the availability of visors. I change them as frequent as bimonthly.
Any help would be highly appreciated !!!!
Cheers;

, including our moderator, B7ACKTHORN. . . You can customise the jacket to your liking. . .
Why not try out MT/HJC/SOL lids in that price range. . ?
Cheers!!!

Are Cramster twister gloves worth buying? If no, any alternatives within this budget?

These looked well made and well fitting when I tried them more than an year ago. I would have bought them but for some silly reason was fixated in the saprtan(now aapida) phateon gloves, just because they came in orange! The blaster was not only cheaper, but looked to me slightly more robust. Its a nice glove But wasn't it 2k? Did they bring the price down?
Oh hell, that was the blaster and not twister! My badThe hero always RIDES into the sunset!

The agv sport solare mesh pants look good. They are not the baggy fit you see in trousers. But you can only physically buy in Mumbai at PRS, I am afraid. The hero always RIDES into the sunset!

Re: Universal : Riding Gear Thread
hey guys,
I need a riding for touring purpose. My budget is around 6K. I have decided to buy Rynox Air GT Riding Jacket from Amazon. Is it a good choice and is there any other options in same range?
One more thing is it safe to purchase helmet from SPG's site?
thanks in advance
