Comes with a rain liner and a lot of mesh. CE (level 1) certified armors as well. Fit is good with an L size for me, while my usual shirt size is 42.

Also bought this Eclipse boot with a 35% discount - that was the last piece they had and suited me well.

Need to invest into a riding pants as well - they had a Macna mesh pants for 10K - no discounts whatsoever. I think, for that price, I'd rather prefer Solace riding pants with Sastec 2 for 7.5K. If anyone has a review for the Macna riding pants, please do put it down.
Congratulations on your purchase. Spartan Icarus is a good buy especially with the discount

Material used by Macna is way superior as compared to any indian brand and even some foreign brands. However Indian brand would provide more features and better protectors.

Also if anyone of you know if we have any physical stores in Chennai having tbg gears.

TIA.
TBG Knight is a good Jacket. You can go for it. You can also consider Rynox Storm, given that it comes with foam chest pad and an option to upgrade to CE chest protectors later.

If you plan to use it for daily rides you can stick to mesh jackets than Textile ones. However in textile you can check Scott and Rynox Stealth Evo v3.

Textile is good for Abrasion but bad for ventilation.
In both the Rynox jackets that I suggested the Abrasion area comes with authentic Cordura and thus providing higher Abrasion than any polyester/nylon material.

When you fall there are 2 things that you need to worry about impact and Abrasion.
Protectors save you from impact, while the external material saved you from Abrasion.

So it’s important to also look at the material of the Jacket.

Hi guys as we all are quite aware about the new BIS norm which is unfair for those who have been using helmets that are being homologated to better standards. I have mentioned below a link to blog, which explain why the new BIS norm is unfair and what needs to be done.

Please take a few minutes and go through the blog. In the end it also mentions a letter which needs to be written to the Joint Secratary of the Transport department. All you guys need to do is just copy paste the draft and send it to the Joint secretary (Email is mentioned).

Link- A Time To Ride: The ISI Helmet Stories

Please take a few minutes and it could possible save thousands of lives in the years to come. Our protection should be in our hands and no lobby of manufacturers should dictate what we need to wear to protect our head.

Go with either of them, if availability is an issue with TBG, get the Solace. Gets all armours from Sastec itself.

I don't feel there is any option that is more reliable than these jackets in your budget.

Have the furious jacket gifted by my brother. Not suited for city rides I would say.
I am using the Rynox Mesh jacket now and it's staying up well. The fit and finish of Rynox is really impressive.

Though my brother still uses the furious.

Go for a Mesh jacket, buddy.

The BBG Riding boots are over my budget.

This is the first time i am using riding boots, i was using Skechers till now and after my crash, never using sports shoes for riding again!
Here's the shoe after a crash

TIA!
late reply to your post but still could helpful for others..

I'm a half off-road and half on road rider.

used many shoes including ones having steel toes and without it also.

here's my favorites so far...

1) JCB Excavator boots - These i highly recommend over ORAZOs. covers the ankle very well.
been using this pair since 3 years and trust me, they been through Off road expedition Pune twice and still the leather you see in picture below doesn't have a single wrinkle. Comfort level is TOP. Insole is also of good quality. I bought these online from safetyshoebazaar.com but now they aren't available there. best part was I got extra insole and pair of shoe laces twice even after 2 years of purchase date that to free of cost. they are water resistant at certain level. Quality is beyond expectation. and the styling is way better than Orazo boots.

I still have these but after 4 years I felt like need lil more room!

2) Quechua Forclaz 500 - Comfort + Ankle protection (No Steel toe)
This one is bit pricey (~5k) but they are of great quality. No matter what terrain you step on these will hold the ground. The material quality is way better than any other hiking brand available in India AFAIK. you get lil hard toe design too.
Crashed once while wearing these, and trust me apart from few scratches no damage seen neither on boots nor the feet.
they are so comfortable that you can wear these for all day.

3) proper riding shoes -

I don't have any due to size problem.
I normally use size 11 or 11.5 in case like Forclaz, but in riding shoes i tried sizes till 12 but fit is too tight for me. so no reviews on proper riding shoes.

Anything from Aspida / Spartan should be a decent buy in that range. I read about some other brands too, can't recollect. I am not sure how many of such jackets with the protection will be very easy to wear. If you remove the liners, it'll be comparatively easy to wear, but still look bulky.

Air GT is a good jacket with Level 2 protectors at that price. You can also check Rynox Tornado Pro if that suits your budget.

****SCAM ALERT****
Hi guys, I visited GEAR N RIDE in Koramangala bangalore last week. I should've stepped out of the store when the first jacket shown to me had cockroaches crawling in them. They told me it happens due to weather and other reasons were given. I did not take that too hard and let them show me a packed one from the other side of the store and I obliged to buy it. I was asked to make a payment and post payment I was informed that their billing system is down and they will provide a bill over e-mail next day. This was not a bog concern at the time I made the purchase. However, I have made multiple calls and have dropped a text. The owner MANAN either ignores the calls or makes up reasons; but doesn't provide the bill. I have reviewed the same on google here is the thread : https://goo.gl/maps/qYjsJmHnCSS2 The owner has rigged the reviews or I am extremely unlucky that all the users have give 5* and have been satisfied and the best part is the owner has acknowledged each of the reviews. Let's see where do I land up and will I get a bill for my purchase. Either ways, you should avoid this place!
