Buddy... I've seen fingerless gloves with Kevlar knuckle protection.. that is why i asked...

Sorry man, I read my earlier post and it came across as a bit curt. Didn't mean to - I was just trying to emphasize that fingerless gloves don't offer much protection when riding a motorbike and a full leather glove would be much better if it is riding gear you want to buy. I have dropped my bike a few times and I can say from experience!

Buy something like the A-star SPS 'Shorty' gloves - easier to take on and off for that nice picture by road!

There are lots of fancy gears available. Got myself a nice riding jacket/helmets/gloves but still hasn't come around on buying a riding shoes. Wife figures we still need to eat so that has to wait. In the mean time I have to do with normal shoes. Normally my leather shoe/boots has no problem due to shifting gears (Zma is only toe shift). Just a little polish and it gets back to normal. However sneakers that has mesh on top are a different story. I was not about to spoil my new sneakers so I had to come up with a solution. Problem is I don't know where to get a shoe shield/guard to protect against abrasion while shifting gears. SO without further ado. Heres what I came up with.



Seen some kind of guard over the internet, but hasn't seen one in real.

Its complete DIY. Made out of pure motorcycle tube and shoe lace. The lace is tied behind the ankle so the guard does not slip off. Would have preferred a kind of proper strap, but does not get time to search for one.

LAugh if you must. But at the end of the day, I always come back after riding with a smile

But why don't you simply cut off a section of inner tube and stretch it over the toes of your shoes? You can cut and paste it into the right shape/size at any bicycle shop. I used to do that about 20 years ago when I had only one pair of black leather shoes and it used to cost me about 2 bucks back then. Used to last for about two months and then I'd make another.

But of course, your design is visually far superior!

The tube I have is not big enough to slip in. Its from my karizma rear tyre. Sneakers are considerably thicker than average leather shoes.

how about rubber coating your toe-shifter itself !! you could have considered that possibility !!

awesome dude....but a more simpler version would be to just wear that big broad rubber band (one where girls use to tie their hair) or that wrist band over the front end of the shoe...

Lol... yes indeed. I have two gear shifters(for sneakers) at home - I bought them in Japan. Relatively simple contruction, has a piece of leather with velcro and a lace hook. I will share pictures once back in town. Right now outta Bangalore!

It has C.E approved removable elbow , shoulder and back protectors... has 6 vents ... armours feels sturdy ... fit and finish is top notch... stiching is amazing. quality is superb.
i am 5'11 and i weigh 72kgs size L fits me perfectly.

The jacket costs $200 on speed and strength website whereas i ordered it from motorcycle superstore .com and there it was a closeout product luckily... It costed me $50 for the jacket and ~ $ 10 for shipping withing US. total cost $60 ... delivery time 3 days.

the website require an american credit card for the payment and they deliver within USA . Since my family member was coming back from there i asked him to bring it here for me .
duties would be there if you want 'em to deliver in India which i highly doubt they will.. no idea on duties part.
if you are bringing back something as a luggage there shouldnt be any duty as such.
