True. I have bought 2 raincoats in the last 1 year of my stay in Mumbai. Not only do I get wet in them even while they are zipped, I start smelling at places where the rain coat sticks to my skin, unless it's raining cats and dogs.
Plus in Mumbai, everytime I leave home with a rain coat on, more often than not, it becomes sunny within minutes.

    Will do.

    Light drizzle = yes
    Heavy down pour = no

Water leaks through zips and somehow also inside my pants.
I think it's because while we ride, the waist position changes and we breathe in and out, so gaps are created between the raincoat-pants and the waist therefore, giving water enough space to seep in.

Even I thought of buying the same Fox Knee and Elbow guards. However i ve read mix reviews of Fox products here. Major chink of people say in India we get duplicate Fox guards. Not the originals .. Anyway could you please put up a review asap specially about the fit and finish - screws, rebets etc .. Another member of xbhp - Madhav Krishna has already posted his review about the same product. Waiting for ur review ...
I own a pair of Alpinestar knee guards and a DSG Falcon jacket. The FOX guards would be used only as an extra pair, when I feel like a change. They look sturdy enough to me. And for this price, even if they last a year, I'd be happy.
If they are safe enough ? Only time will tell. Though I'm hoping I never end up finding out the answer

One of my buddies also has a pair of this and had a nasty fall while negotiating a curve on his ninja... he was unscathed and had not even a scratch.

        Totally VFM and highly recommended.
thats nice to hear...any scratches on the bike due to these knee guards???...

They don't necessarily need to be worn outside pants if they are bionic (flexible joints).
Non bionic ones need to be worn on the outside though.
I wear Cramster bionics (old model) inside loose pants&they are fine.
Though now Aditya will go into a long speech about how Cramster quality sucks!
My input is: go for only bionic CE approved guards according to your budget.

I have paint protection films on the sides of the tank where the knee guards touch, this avoids any scratches. Without these, the tank is surely gonna get scuffed badly.

You might want to get Stomp Grips for your bike. Better than plain paint protection films as they provide a great deal of grip during hard braking which helps in keeping the rider from sliding off his seat.

For the Ninja here is a link:

              haha yeah!!
the a* ones i am referring here are bionic ones
in my recent crash i learnt the importance of knee gaurds..so dont want to compromise and have the ones which offer maximum protection(cant dare to risk my knee again )...
i think its tough to wear those knee guards under jeans(snug fitting)

LOL. Just trying to help people make an informed decision. I have nothing personal against cramster and their products.

I'm not sure if you can wear these inside your pants. If you have skinny legs and your pants are loose enough then you could wear them inside. These are pretty big in size and i always have worn them over my denims. They fit very well and are super comfy. You might feel them sag while walking which is natural. But at all other times the fit and feel is spot on and they do a good job at protecting your knees and shin.

                • Phew! After days of tearing my hair apart in trying to find a good deal I finally completed the first phase of gear upgrade and am nearly bankrupt

Got the following stuff (prices after $ to INR conversion charges applied to my CC):-

                  1. AGV K3 Gothic White ~ 7.9K + Dark Smoke Visor ~ 2K

                  2. Cortech GX Air Series 2 Jacket ~ 6.2K

Now need to find the next person coming back from the states who can get me boots and riding pants!

PS: Reviews in two weeks as I am yet to get the stuff in my hands, currently this is still at my friend's place in amreeka!

Nice jacket & lid over there. Probably i will be getting the same jacket in the first quarter of next year. How good is the jacket when compared to rjays octane.

Thats an awesome deal Praful. Did you get it shipped to India or someone getting it down for you from US?

I've seen this lid with a ninja rider (i dont know him, saw him on the road long back) and it looks superb. IIRC, Nisarg has the same one too.

My next lid is going to be an AGV too. They are super lightweight and very quiet. Glad you chose this over the SparX.

                        • Need suggestion for Jacket

                          Hi All,

i am planning to buy jacket for myself and have kept a budget of close to 10K.
Can someone please suggest me some good options?
I am confused between Joe Rocket Atomic 4.0, JR Breezer 5.0 and Alpinestar T-RC 1.
Alpinstar is availble in India (via DSG) and i have tried the size so can be considered a safer bet when it comes to size issues.
But as i am a newbie would appreciate if someone can provide relvant suggestions along with shops where i can buy them.
I live in Bangalore and as of now none of my friends are coming back from US .

                          Thanks in advance.

                          Regards

I found a bakra to get it down from the US. With shipping at most places it was going upwards of 10K and with shipping you never how the customs folks behave.

Glad to know it looks good in person too... can't wait to run-in the helmet

Yep, Nisarg too has the K3 lid just a different design.

I badly needed a lid upgrade and a refresh of my riding gear coz they are now 3+ years old and have lived their life. Unable to decide between kneeguards (ofcourse A* Bionics, coz my current ones are also A*, but reflex ones. But they've saved me from loosing my knee cap) OR going in for a riding pant!

What are my options to get it shipped over to Bangalore ? Bought it online at motorcyclegear.com but they charge $60 for shipping to India
Now the jacket has arrived in his place.
Are there more economical options for shipping ? If yes , then please share the details.

I have the JR Atomic 4 and use it for city rides and short distances. My suggestion is to check the sizing on it. I wear a 40 sized shirt and my other jackets are a perfect fit for the same size but this one is not. Its slightly on the loser side.

PRS stocks JR. Check with them.

Don't know about the other 2 but am sure members will pitch in.

Find a bakra like how Praful did. Seriously, there is no escaping here. Pay the shipping and duties or get through someone.
