But after I got the pulsar 200 ns, k&n 1060 with a bit of carb retuning(using the 3000 rpm principle) is worth it.
The reason is may be because the jet size is bigger, the engine is way more capable (23.5 bhp) or more importantly because its a liquid cooled bike. Liquid cooling is way more effective, than air cooling and hence helps maintain engine's efficiency.
The sub180 cc bikes after a k&n installation, end up with too much of air in the engine, for which a lot of hit and trial re jetting is required. And its seriously not worth, because even if you are getting an aggressive sound, its at the expense of the engine life.

And yes NS has a carb.
I have used ak&n RC1060 on my p180 and BA2201 as well on my P220 , with proper upjetting, botj for sure were quicker than stock, I used Apache RTR 180's 124 mainjet on both, the karizma 125 jet is actually smaller than P180's 117.5, Nevertheless I found K&N to be a useless investement till n less you are a tech savvy kinna guy. Here are my 0-100kmph timing on:
    P180UG4
    0-60 4.02sec
    0-100 11.68sec
    P220
    0-60 3.91 sec
    0-100 10sec sharp
I also retuned the carb by RPM method.

As mentioned by the moderator in a post above yours, go for an AM filter only if you know what you are up against. Stick to stock.

Almost most reputed branded air filters are good, K&N, Simota are all really good stuff but I'd suggest not to mod until you really have a sense of what you're about to do, because apart from the money spent and mod done, the difference is barely noticeable apart from the signature roar and in the long run it doesn't do any good to the engine itself.

The difference is very slightly noticeable.

    Cheers!

The mechanic says the air in the carb will go through the mouth of the carb only where i have fixed the k&n air filter. Then what are those 2 pipes lying vacant for?

They maybe induction and engine blowby tubes, it's not a problem to leave them dangling, but blowby causes oil to come out from the engine which is normal and to make sure the oil doesn't splash everywhere it's hooked onto the AF box. But nothing to worry.
