You do not need to remove AF box for the installation but of course in case of 'non-fitting', it needs to be modified. Carb will remain intact (don't worry). Now, if you're looking for something that sits in the same place as the stock you should look for the box type in any brand. But if that is the case, you can replace it with a new stock filter - that will also not alter your standard setup. Now the question is what exactly do you seek? Aftermarket filters are performance parts & ensures a change in the overall experience without compromising much with the rest of the features. If you seek the change, go to your trusty mech. or reputed bike SVCs and enjoy. It's field job, so venture out & you'll not regret!!

PS - If there is no direct fitment, there will be a problem in reverting back to stock.

I'd suggest one to have the stock to have a best effect of performance and protection.

Yup I accept. I have a conical filter but no problems since ill be cleaning it from now once in every 1000 kms. Just washing in detergent and letting it dry. But the stock filter is better. Maintenance free with pure filtration.

Not possible, but it can with some real good aftermarket stuffs. If the fitment on the plastic panel can hold the foam then it should be a fit. But the filter most HONDA TWO WHEELERS have in India is viscous filters.

But personally if you ask, it's useless. Viscous filters are the same as foam as they are both oil wetted and perform more or less the same.

But trust me, stock filters do the most when filtering as their very design is for maximum filtration. It doesn't mean aftermarket just increase noise by letting in more air, they do both. But when it comes to cleaning, almost all are easy especially if it's plug and play type of aftermarket filters.

Hint - Check for reviews on foam types
Yup foam based filters are the next safest ones after stock filters. Nothing can beat the filtering capability of stock filter. Foam based are good as they can be washed and maintained.
