Yeah keeping that in mind only am retaining the filter box, the cover wont fit cause the Filter would be getting in the way. Direct carb bolt on is the best, but avoiding it cause of the issue's you've mentioned.

I was shocked but l8r he explained. In the kn filter in da material just below the mesh wen observed carefully we find a lot of tiny holes which are provided for better quality sound. In time due to suction of air these holes grow big and fine dust particles enter da cylinder. But wen we saw dat of a simota or cosworth da material was totally different. And better quality. Wen i asked den y is k&n popular he gave a simple logic. It's marketing in india since past many years so brand is popular. But companies lik cosworth and simota have their own value cause dey manufacture utilities for rols royce (spelling error). Since dey recently started marketin here dey are still not famous. And wen i went to most of da shops dealing wit filtr dey all supported wit da fact dat these filters are indeed better dan k&n.. I was shocked but den i went for a simota. Its sound is much better and performance is brilliant. So next time u buy a filter better check quality of material below da mesh.. I would however advice cosworth or simota
Cosworth is the best when it comes to Filtering, cause there are'nt any in necessary holed in the base. And Its not the regular oiled type, its a dry one, which can be washed and re used.

^ all free flow filter allow some amount of dust to be ingested by engine if compared with stock filters. Though I've also heard about the fact, you mentioned. But was not sure as I have not used them.

Hey guys, planning to go for a free flow intake.
Already ordered 140 main jet, and waiting for it to arrive.
Have'nt yet decided on the Filter to use, main contenders are-

    1. K&N RC1060
    2. Cosworth CWCFBK1001

Planning to fix it inside the stock air filter box with the cover removed. All ideas welcome.

P.S : Its not worth installing

I am in Gurgaon, so from where can I buy the K&N filter and what is the cost of it.
Also, suggest if there is any good mechanic, who can do this thingy?

    Thanks

    Topic Approved & Merged.

Closed Loop Fi system keeps a sensor in the exhaust too, thereby letting the Fi system know of the Air Fuel Ratio and adjusting fuel supply accordingly. So, in one way, its more suitable for air filters but we have to yet find the extent to which Fuel supply can be increased to match the excess air.

In any case, do NOT remove your airbox while installing the filter, and don't make any cutting/ changes to the air filter before installing it.
