The bike will accelerate better and will also register a higher top speed, since those are the symptoms of a lean engine. But to ensure if its TOO LEAN, take the bike to redline and notice whether the engine sputter or anything, if yes then you need to upjet, another symptom would be that the RPM will keep fluctuating when the engine is hot.

Ohh I see.. Thanks alot Anant bro to make me free of a tension as I was going out of station tomorrow.. LOL.. I wont be busy that much to clock my bike 20-30k..Originally posted by antz.bin View PostNo need to panic so much though, over 20-30k km, it will fry your valves which will lead your bike to breakdown(in the middle of nowhere if you are unlucky
).
The above statement means, you can get it done when free, but don't remain busy for too long
.
Anyways.. my bike will be undercover for a week as I wont be here.. so may be when i return the first thing i will do that..

Cheers..

Do you have a P220 F or Carb?
Is it mentioned on the box?The Filter is a Dry Filter and requires no oiling as made using a unique non-woven synthetic filteration media, can be rinsed using mild soap water every 5000kms or six months.
I hopes this one cost's 1500rs, right?
After the installation process, I went on a small ride and ensured that I get a long stretch to test the raw power of my P220. The Moment I stepped on my bike and started the ignition I felt my bike has completely changed and have become more aggressive in terms of power,
Have you checked the top speed?Have you upjetted?

Cosworth Air-Filter
Hi Guys, I am in the process of modding my Pulsar220 which will include a performance as well as a cosmetic mod. In cosmetic mode, I am planing to change the tyres and put low profile ones and make naked look from rear by removing the rear fender. Also it would follow with some graphics and paint job. As of now in the performance mod I have just fitted a newly launched Cosworth Performance filter as the initial step. I thought to share this with you guys as well.
Let me first introduce you guys to Cosworth, as we all think of only and only K&N when it comes to filters for our bikes. Cosworth is a UK based company which mainly deals with performance racing upgradation parts. Cosworth is an official supplier for Formula One, IndyCar, Champ Car, WRC, sportscars and MotoGP.
Cosworth is a global leader in automotive high-performance technologies. Since the company was founded in London, UK in 1958, it has provided innovative engines and components which make vehicles go further and faster. Cosworth's unparalleled motorsport track record includes 176 grand prix wins and 23 world championship titles in Formula One, as well as outstanding success in every other form of the sport from LeMans 24h to Indy Car and World Rally. On the road, Cosworth's innovations have powered vehicles ranging from the legendary Ford Sierra Cosworth in the 1980s to today's Aston Martin One-77 supercar.
Too much of gyan here for this company because few people here may come across the name COSWORTH, first time. Hence to avoid unnecessary questions I m just putting the above para for general knowledge and also not to make a fool of myself as people shouldnt have a negative impression that I m fitting some local filter on my bike..LOL

Well getting back to my upgradation part, I chose this filter due to couple of reasons. The most imp one being its Brand name as the filter belongs to Cosworth, a performance part from an official supplier of Formula one.
Secondly, Performance of the product as got some reviews from people who have fitted it in their bike and have felt a drastic change in the performance in their bike with no effect on the mileage. This "No effect in the mileage" sounds attracting..LOL!!!

Lastly i was bored of K&N as it has become too common these days. You ask a roadside chap what filter to use and pat comes the reply "K&N". People even dont know how to pronounce it properly.

Anyways, after all finally I have this filter in my bike. The build quality of this filter is good and I got impressed on my first look when I opened the box to see the filter. The Filter is a Dry Filter and requires no oiling as made using a unique non-woven synthetic filteration media, can be rinsed using mild soap water every 5000kms or six months.
Installing procedure of this filter is as same as other Universal Conical Filters or Rather K&N filters etc etc. You just need to remove the stock filter box completely and install this one with the rubber hose kit provided for Pulsar 220. It comes with those screw-tightened ring so that it can be fastened to the rubber air inlet.
After the installation process, I went on a small ride and ensured that I get a long stretch to test the raw power of my P220. The Moment I stepped on my bike and started the ignition I felt my bike has completely changed and have become more aggressive in terms of power, Well I really don't know if the power output has increased but definitely the performance of my bike has improved. Trust me, The throttle response was awesome and better than before, the roaring sound of the filter made people turn their heads and the best part was i felt the running of my engine become smoother than before. Well, I still need to test the bike on a long run but below is all what I can say as of now:
1) from the city riding i can say, the bike revs very well.
2) the throttle response has improved.
3) there is improvement in pickup during each gear change.
4) as the bike revs fast, its too easy to pick it up on top speed
5) the engine feels smoother
6) much difference in 1st, 2nd and 3rd gear as I can rev freely
7) roaring sound is so audible
8) the best part is that i enjoyed the difference as it showed the output when reviving more and more.
Overall I am happy with the performance of my bike after installing this filter. Now need to check on a long ride and also need to check on the mileage part as well. Hope it performs well as per my expectations.
PS :Pic of the filter below. Will upload a roaring video soon.

Cheers..
RIDE SAFE!!!

K&N is not going to increase power by a huge margin,IMO its not worth.Better Stick to stock Plugs and Filter and replace every 10000kms.Originally posted by bhalan View PostHi Friends,I would like to install K&N Air filter for my R15 V2.0, also like to install iridium spark plugs, Will these two modifications increase the performance of my bike. Replace Air Filter for (old type 102cc) Honda Aviator
Thanks ariendj. This helped a lot.Originally posted by ariendj View PostOwn a 102cc Honda Aviator which has the 'paper filter'.
mileage at 11k kms and with the choking drives, wanted to change it but the paper airfilter wasn't in stock as the new aviator has the 'viscous filter'.
waited for 3 months and lost hopes in Honda and today bought the visocus filter.in appearance its all the same except for the color.
the paper filter being yellow and viscous filter being green.
it has same size and filter holder shape is same.
did a DIY and the Aviator just got a new life.

check this tooOriginally posted by neal_wreakz86 View PostI have fitted a Cosworth performance filter in my pulsar 150 ug3. I have discarded the air filter box and the mechanic has fitted it directly near the carburettor without fitting any extention pipe. There is a significant increase in acceleration without re-jetting as i am running it 1 1/2 turns richer mix. One query i have is that i have noticed a black pipe just below the filter conneting with the engine.. is it ok to leave it open or cover it with some cloth and also i want to ask how is it possible to check if there is any air leakage from breather pipe where the filter has been fitted.
