CBZ Xtreme ATFT model upgrades help please!!

Hi guys.. I'm new on this forum. So first off, a BIG HELLO to you all!!

I am from Palakkad, Kerala and I own a CBZ Xtreme ATFT model. I've been quite happy about it and it has given me a smooth ride, always. But I had been thinking about upgrading it to increase it's BHP and so I have bought myself a K&N RC-1060 air filter. I have read numerous threads on this forum and have realized that I will also need to "upjet" my carb. Now what I'd like to know is, how much it would cost me totally to upjet (I already have bought the air filter) and where I can get it done. I have only seen guys running bikes with K&N filters, and such people have never even heard of upjetting.

    Thanks a lot guys!!

    yes ive used 1100
i know its very large for the DIO
but that time no knowledge abt all this and thought THE BIGGER THE BETTER

and the max speed i attained was 95 but it used to stuck little in 20-30 speeds
later i changed to RC 1060 and used 90 jets ,and got it tuned !
So after tuning, hows it now? I mean using RC1060 and 90?

    No.

What is upjet & how to do & how much it gonna cost ? & give some info on lean mixture how to check it & is it good or bad ?
    Simply,

A carburetor has two jets inside it.Main Jet and Pilot Jet.Main jet for top end and Pilot for low end.Upjetting means replacing stock jets with bigger ones.

ie jets are mentioned in their size. For eg

Karizma has a main jet 125,125 represents 125cc of petrol per minute.

So if your put a K&N in karizma, you have to use 140sized jets for optimum air fuel ratio. normally 10 to 15units + stock,ie if your bike has a 100 sized jet,you have to put 110 or 115 after fixing free flow filter.

Do you have any idea about cost of R1060 & HP filter ?
    RC1060 is 1890rs and R1060 nearly 1700rs.HP ranges from 450-550rs.

If the cost is near about then i will try k&n & depending on result will keep it or shift to stock & try k&n in ZMR some day .
K&N in zmr will reduce mileage drastically AFAIK.because it has Fi,so the ecu will consume the fuel needed for burning the air entering through the free flow filter.Read some where, dont know exactly, needs experts suggestions.

    Yes,Open=More sound and leaner
Close=Less sound and less leaner than open

OR you can try HP Filters, not best as K&n,but a lot better than other local filters like Moxi etc in terms of quality, not best as K&N but i think its more than enough for 100cc bike. Also if you have a conical type filter ,then it will sound very good than a K&N. I had tried it in the glamour.

is it needed to be fitted in open space to get noise rather than the stock box for air filter ?

how much it gonna affect the FE ?

    Thanks for the info bro.

i used K&n RC 1100 the bigger one
for DIO? Its very big, isnt it? Please post some pics too.

i used 115 size jets ( i know its way too big size)
i got nice perfoirmance but it used to lag between 20-30 speed
and then i tried 110 and even 105 but top end decreased to 80
    where earlier it was 90
So whats the current jet size and whats the max speed you attained with it?

so ur going for K&N RC 1060 so try 90 and 95 jets n tune ur carb with a digital tachometer
Yes,95 will be the optimum size jet.

As far as I know, the Dio runs a Keihin carb. Can anyone tell me the stock jet size being used in the bike? Tried searching about it, but unfortunately did not hit upon anything. Also, if I rejet, what is the size of the jet I should be installing? And what would be its cost?

Lastly, what tunings or changes would I need to do after installing the new jet?

    Thanks in advance.
Its a time taking job based on trial & error method so fine tuning may prove challenging.
First try with a main jet which is 2 size bigger than your stock.
And keep checking performance, FE, & engine temperature through out the process.
Btw, k&n will cause more engine depreciation; as it lets the fine dust particles to enter the engine.
