Thanks a lot Bro. Could you tell me which is a good TVS dealer in the western suburbs? And like Madhav suggested, how's your experience been with TVS service, parts, etc?

    -- Update as of 4pm 7-Dec-12
Went to TVS showroom and took TD of RTR160.
Experience in one word : Unimpressive.
Sorry, owners and enthusiasts, but it's only scary and not fast.
    Sitting posture is too bad.

OTR MH02 - 78K for front disc only
80.8K for front + rear disc.

The FZ @ 82K is a much better proposition...
I've ridden this bike earlier. But will take a TD again to be sure.

With all due respect to all the owners and enthusiasts, it may be fast and most VFM.
But may be my style was not correct, or sitting posture was too strenuous to actually enjoy the bike.
I'm just sharing my experience based on a short TD. But the TD didn't inclined me towards buying the bike, simple as that.
Some things just captivate you, some don't.

        -- update as of 8-Dec-12, 2pm
Visited Bajaj showroom here in Borivali E. Took a TD (barely a TD) of P135LS. Again sitting posture was not good. But the bike was comfortable for me, was able to handle it well.

Checked out the ST. It was much more comfortable to sit on. Didn't get a TD per se, so just did a sit-on test.
On paper, the ST has a height of 800mm (compared to 790mm of other bikes like FZ, D150, etc), but it was comfortable to sit on. The rider seat is a bucket-type, the pillion is a little higher up.

        Prices:
        P135LS - 68,700/-
        D150 - 62,000/-
        D125ST - 65,000/-

Looks like I will be going for D150 or D125ST. So between D125ST and D150, which one is better?
        D150 - Older 2valve engine. But hey, 150CC
D125ST - Newer 4 valve engine, monoshock, better console, newer alloy design, etc.

A little confused at the moment between the two. Power same on both bikes. Please suggest.
        Thanks.

        --Update 8-Dec-12 4pm
Visited the Honda showroom here in Malad.
Inquired about Shine, Yuga and Unicorn. Only one Unicorn and Yuga were there to display. The Unicorn was actually awaiting delivery.
All honda bikes have more than 5-6 months waiting. Still the Rep took my number and told me that they may get fresh stock in Jan, out of which they may be able to make a delivery based on full payment.

I ditched the FZ for the price ... 82K is too much for a small daily commute.

          Wait for Jan '13?

Guys, should I wait for a couple of weeks (probably till end of Jan '13) to get a model freshly manufactured in 2013?
I'm finalizing Discover 125ST. Do you think that 2013 manufacturing batch will reach showrooms by mid Jan?

          Please share your views. Thanks.

First buying in Jan or December it won't make a difference..Mostly no comapy manufatures new lot in Jan or Feb of the year to be sold in same month.... Jan or Feb lot will be available in March or April only. All dealer are in rush to sell out out all previous lots which runs till Jan and Feb...fresh lots would be in march or + months only. Then too you can try if you get a Jan or Feb 2013 manufatured vehicle. Very tough !!Don't wait book it and get the enjoyment quickly!!

Thanks, I was feeling same - that the 2013 stock will come only in March or later. Else it would be 2012 stock only.

                  Discover 125ST booked

                  Friends,

I've booked Bajaj Discover 125ST today. Chose the blue+black color. I should get the delivery within 8 working days (3 to clear payment, 5 to get the bike registered).
The OTR came to 65K. Thanks to everyone who helped me by posting on this thread and voting on the poll. Really appreciate it.

There were many 125ST's for delivery at the showroom. The only gripe is Kenda tyres. All of them had these tyres only.
The stock I will get will be Nov/Dec 2012. A friend who is an aggressive bargainer managed to get me accessories worth ~1K free.

Mods: Will post on this thread when I get the delivery and then we can close this thread. After that, I will post on the 125ST owner's thread

                      Received D125ST today

                      Hi guys,

I'm happy to let you know that I received the bike today. Rode it for say 10 kms or so from showroom to home.
It's a good bike. More details on the ownership thread.

Thanks once again to all those who helped.

                      Cheers!
