Re: An Awesome looking bike after owning a CD100

I have narrowed myself to get the R15 or the Fzs FI

( I badly wanted cbr palm green, but no stocks as production has stopped and waiting period for new cbr is approx 3-5 months )

R15 is a good choice over the FZ. You get power as well as a mini sports bike.

Some reviews and some of my friends say that the riding position is too much aggressive and you will get back pain and your palms will hurt - however i don't blindly believe them.
One of my friend also added that the mileage is very poor after days go by ( I learnt that R15 gives decent mileage of 37-45 )

Just wanted to hear an word from the R15 owners

Duke or P200 are best for city use.
If you like cbr150, then you can also look for R15

if you want a good looking bike then fz ver 2.0 is also a good option. This is a very good handler and comfortable .

Re: An Awesome looking bike after owning a CD100

I found some time to spare and drove the
Duke 200 and RTR 180 non ABS.

                With duke-
The first one that struck my eye was the tank - the tank was much wider than what i anticipated with the pics i saw in the net and the bike was actually not small.
I found that the pickup was the strongest point of the bike ( I rode with a pillion)
I found the seat stiff and the suspension firmer than usual bikes - felt the bumps
May be this is personal feeling - I felt that the gear transmission was very abrupt and not so smooth ( may be because I shifted every gear on low rpms)
Felt the so called premium finish.
Handle grips and handling are awesome.
Breaks - i used them on some points and couldn't find fault with it - very good.
Although my expectation was much greater - the bike was very decent.
The only thing that keeps me refrained from this bike is the naked aggressive look - I would like to have a non-naked bike.

                With apache-
Immediately after i rode duke within 15 minutes i rode the RTR180.
The immediate thing i felt was the clutch and front break was a bit floating - i mean it was more readily accessible in Duke. I had to get used for a minute to position myself on the handlebar with the clutch and front beak ready.
Pickup wise - to be honest - felt like an Fz nothing super ordinary.
The riding position and the suspension was really very good and i was really comfortable.
Actually the drive was extremely short and so i couldn't grab anything more from the drive.

Unfortunately the didn't have any Thunderbird to test ride - even see them.
                So i couldn't try them.

                I will ride r15,Fz fi and TB350

I am thinking of buying a second hand duke.
Can i go for it ?
Can someone brief me the dangers in buying a second hand bike or may be link me to some thread.
                  Thank you.

That's a good option of buying an old duke.
Yes you can surely go for it.

The bad things buying an old duke can be.

Engine will be ripped badly as most of the duke owners ride the bike terribly fast, check for any abnormal noise from the engine , ask for complete service history, take an visual inspection of the vehicle at every nook and corner, check the condition of disc brakes and brake pads, like grinding marks on disc, check the bikes alloy wheels and tyres carefully,
don't be hesitate to ask this question from the owner - why is he selling the bike.

                      Thank you very much.
I have saw ads duke 200 which are 1 year old for 95,000 - around 30,000kms done.
It's there a chance that the mileage will be dramatically reduced? Is it irreversible ?
                      Thank you.

No. Mileage is not reversible in digital speedo unless you fit a new speedo..

Try to bargain to 90000.. find out if he is a noob. As in he doesnt know much about bikes. That will be an advantage if he is.. yoi can look around the bike, start the engine. Just use some technical words as if you kmow much. That could help you get a little more discount..

This finally should be answered by you only, and no one else.

                            Ride safe and have fun.

                              Finally settled for duke.
                              Was thinking of booking it.

But one of my friends told about the Rc200 and since it is releasing in a week or so .. I am worried.

Will Rc suite my needs ? Or go with duke ?
