It would be very difficult to compare the wet grips provided by 2 different tyres. The only way to find that out is - Post a query in the "tyres" thread in "general biking discussions" section.

As for the mod - I suppose yes, the belly pan could be attached to the bike, but the fit and finish of the mod will be directly proportional to the skill of the mechanic doing it.
If you decide to go for it, make sure that a good mechanic does it, else it would be more of a pain than anything else.
also try the apache belly pan, it should look good too.
I would like to thank my legs for supporting me, my arms for being always by my side and my fingers; I could always count on them.

Guys, is it necessary for me to wait till 2015 to buy a bike? because the mechanic in my locality says to wait till 2015 because if i want to sell my bike in the future, i can say that its a 2015 model and not a 2014 one.so i get a year extra. does it work like that?

You see things vacationing on a motorcycle in a way that is completely different from any other. Hello,

I was in a similar confusion whether to choose duke200 or gixxer. Never considered pulsar 200ns due to its weight and my discretion which made me doubt its build quality. I wanted to practice more cornering and riding dynamics. I was in the verge of choosing gixxer. But then I rode an rtr 180. I would say its a product which balances riding dynamics, power, weight and price to the best possible way. Even if the upgraded tyres are mixed compund and do not aid in grip well in wet ( as far as cornering is concerned) they're very good in dry ( considering you don't corner or ride spirited in wet/ rain) . Also they come with ABS below 1 lac rs which also aids in late braking and prevent fishtailing to some extent. I tried gixxer and its a very good bike feeling very solid too. But I'm just 60 and since you're on heavier side, try it with a pillion too before getting it. Its a very easy to use product. If you're really interested try tvs apache rtr 180 with abs and then decide. You might get a new idea. Also don't mind it's vibrating and build quakity issues usually brought up in forums. It's by far one of the best built bikes in the country. see it in person and it has enough torque to pull heavy people even with pillion moreover its low seat height and the tank recesses aid even a beginner to corner well.i wonder how you considered 200ns compared to cbr considering the height problem.

Like you've mentioned buy the bike in 2015 so that it brings you better resale value if you sell it in the same year or next good luck with your ride

Thanks for the suggestion bro. But no offence, I do not like the styling of the Apache series. I had considered it earlier, then I saw it in person and didn't like the looks. Therefore crossed it out of my list. And yes , I will be patient. I will first enquire with the showroom if there is going a new batch coming in in January. I will only buy a bike from that batch. So it will be a "true" 2015 model and not just a 2014 model bought in 2015.

Hi guys.. Even I have made up my mind to buy NS200 and was waiting for the new year.. But now thinking to book one today and get it registered in the new year. The reason being price rise due to increase in excise duty starting 1 Jan.. Although the hike in excise duty is not yet certain but its very likely to rise bcoz the automotive sector has done good and the govt is most likely to get it back to earlier level. This will increase the prices by 4% at least..

Not forgetting that manufacturers are also aiming a price increase due to increase in input prices.. So if that happens a further price rise is on cards.... Not sure if Bajaj is going to do that..

Question is, how much difference would it make if I buy a Dec'14 model but anyway registered in Jan'15 considering I wud save around 4-5k by avoiding price rise..?

And, srinath2494, is there any chance if further improvement or modification by Bajaj on the ns200 current model..?

No change with engine. If the specific showroom you're buying is offering some extra goodies then it's the only improvement/ modification you can get:P i feel bajaj would concentrate on 200ss, 400ss and 150/180ns as they have tasted success in 200 cc segment. It's just my guess. Might be otherwise too. Current ns comes with mrf tyres which I've seen myself in my friend's bike. It's a gamble man, they know the market strategy for mass consumption. B)and yes in my city the price has gone up to 1lac6thousand on road. So the price is only ever increasing. :|

Not much of a difference either way I'm guessing since the price increase can't be before march 2015 when the budget session happens in the parliament. You can get the late 2014 model as it is regarded as 2015 model anyway and the prices (even regionally) can't increase before 2015 Feb for any and all reasons. You can also get the Jan 2015 model as upto march in most states they'll be clearing the late 2014 stock only.
So it makes no difference either way. But don't wait till Feb 2015.
Best to buy before new years eve as most companies offer extra stuff as free gifts or holiday offers but if you're asking for immediate delivery then do PDI the bike thoroughly since as I said at that time its a stock clearance sale.

Thnx Balgi.. But the excise duty cut subsidy to vehicle manufacturers is only up to 31 Dec. They have asked for an extension but our Govt has opted to take a call on 31 Dec itself... So its likely that the prices increase starting 1st Jan itself.. Yes some stock clearances may be sold at old prices but I guess effective mid Jan the new excise duty will be applicable..

It wont make too much of a difference coz the money you save by buying in December is the money you loose only if you wanna sell ur bike in a couple years or so.. Coz of the 2014 tag.. So its best to buy now, register in 2015.. Save now and only worry later if you wud want to sell it..

I don't think I would sell it anytime for the next 5 years atleast..

I can't believe nobody told me about the bike swaying to the left problem.A pretty big omission on their part. I can only imagine what else they haven't told me. Not even splendors have this problem.Well even if they do,they don't cost 1 lakh odd Rupees do they? So many problems and nobody speaks out about them. Kinda fishy. A 1 hundred thousand rupee bike with such low level problems speaks volumes about the dedication of their QC staff and the company as a whole. And bikers who bought this bike must bring it to others notice before asking them/suggesting them to empty their pockets. Now I'm a bit skeptical about this bike. I'll take all advice with a bucket of salt from now on.

Peace Out.

Which bike? What swaying problem? It would be great that you explain your point, rather than jumping to conclusion that "owners" want you to waste your money.
