Well when we compare R15(150cc,17bhp) with P220 then why not RTR180(180cc,17.3bhp)?????

RTR180, R15, P220 and ZMA are the high perfomance desi bikes for now.....so it's ok to compare these bikes. Though cc varies all these bikes have almost the same acceleration figures....ok....maybe differnce by a second....

After going through this thread man you are just as confused as me when I was hunting for a bike(I got RTR Fi and m totally satisfied )

          Go get yourself a R15 EOD>

Personally untill and unless you dont wanna be a pro. stunter you can take my advice. The stunting craze will go after sumtym(personal experience )
but you would love riding R15 everyday!!!

p.s: Search for a thread named Saty needs a bike if you arent convincd enuff.

The two things in which the RTR lags behind by a good margin is: Top Speed and Engine Refinement.Rest a test ride of these two machines will make you clearer in making the final decision.

              You said it all..!

Depends upon the length of the drag.

RTR better till 100kmph, after that its the R15 territory.

RTR 220.............??? Where can I get this bike..?

RTR 180 is one of the best machines in India

-Power delivery right from lower revs, mid range and mid-high range. Looses out in the higher range from the competition

              - Best brakes in the market currently. Better than R15 and decades better than 220s

City driving, RTR scores over the R15. Highways, R15

              Stunting: RTR...!
              2002 - Pulsar 150 Classic (Still owned)
              2005 - Pulsar 150 Dtsi (Still owned)
              2006 - Eterno (sold)
              2008 - Dio (Owned)
              2009 - Pulsar 220 DTSi

yeah..I hope You'll not do a wheelie at 120kmph.....R15 has everything awesome but comes above 100kmph and doesn't come under 1lakh.

                      R15 or RTR 180?

                      Hey Guys,

I've been around xBhp for quite sometime (as a guest though), this is my first post here. Need your invaluable suggestions in upgrading my bike; but, before that a little of my background:

I am 5' 7", and weigh around 60kgs (I know, thats less). Am 25 and riding a CBZ (2000) for last 5 years. Have been enjoying its ride all these years. As it is turning 11 in Feb, I'm planning to keep her for office commute now. Wanna upgrade to something more fun (BTW, only those who have owned a CBZ would know what fun she is!). The engine is a bit harsh now but would be perfect after an overhaul, I'm sure.

                      What am I looking for:

                      1. I've been riding a smooth engine with decent power delivery (it still touches 115 kmph if pushed hard), now want something more to it. Something fun to ride/ a noticeable change is my need.

                      2. Wanna go biking/touring/relaxing anywhere between, say 150- 300kms, on weekends. (I used the CBZ for rides from 100- 150+ kms, always felt comfortable with it)

                      3. A big NO to day-to-day niggles. I service my bike every 2000- 2500 kms- n thats all I can do. Money isn't a concern but time is something I can't afford to lose.

                      4. I'm not expecting this bike to be my eternal life-partner; 3 years run is what I would expect from this machine. I guess any machine would do that!

                      5. I'm not playing the bumper-to-bumper racing game with anyone, anymore. Done and won enough of that. I guess I'm a bit matured now

                      The bikes:

                      1. P220- I understand the performance is great; however, is too common breed, all pulsars look more or less the same. Wanna keep it as a last choice (No offences to Pulsar owners, just that it kind of lacks exclusivity in Bangalore, at least!).

                      2. Karizma R- Awesome engine and chasis- but, an Old bike (No tubeless, no digi-consoles, no rear-disc, no FI, etc.). ZMR- on the other hand has all these and more, but, would be BIG for my physique (I'm about 60 kilos )

                      3. RTR 180- Heard its fun to ride this machine. Concerns- Smaller engine size; am unsure if it'd fair well if I constantly touch 120kmph on this machine. Like the chrome finish, console, petal discs. As of now, this is my second choice.

                      4. R15- Light weight, advanced technology, superior looks and what not! Concerns- Costs around 30-35k more than P220, ZMA & RTR180. Heard of vibrations from many on the ownership thread; though, I personally feel vibrations wouldn't be a problem in this, would it be? R15 is on top of my list as of today!

Request you to share your experiences with these machines to help me add some fun in my life, in style!

First of all-Congrats! You have been using my 1st dream bike which I could not get at that time. I know what it is like owning a CBZ, I was always envious of my friend who had it&ended up using it more than him, till the time he sold it off.
Coming to your new bike, being one of the 1st owners of the bike, I would only say-If you have the budget, go for it-you will end up keeping it for much more than 3 years!
It is the best piece of machinery money can buy you in India. Flawless handling, braking&unbeatable quality. I don't know about any vibrations-my bike doesn't vibrate even at 130kmph the mirrors don't move. This bike is the only bike to clear the wind tunnel testing in India.
The closest that comes to the riding experience that this bike gives you is the RTR.
Feel free to ask me anymore questions about the bike and also go through the thread. We happy owners will go on for hours talking about the bike!

It is wierd to see someone talking about R15's vibrations; but not of RTR's R15 doesn't vibrate (much) compared to the other given bikes... By the way, both RTR and R15 are way better in their categories... Be it, handling, brakes and acceleration.. Both are awesome n powerful...
As you owned CBZ, you would have been enjoying the initial pull of the bike... This is where I feel RTR overtakes R15... R15 is faster but RTR is quicker.... Initial pull is lesser in R15 compared to RTR... But after 5-6k rpm, it flies away....
Both are obviously good machines... You won't regret your choice, later..

Id suggest you the R15 unless you really find the riding posture uncomfortable...but then i guess the RTR is pretty much the same.
R15 is worth every extra paisa...and i haven't heard or come across any vibration issues but the RTR is famous for its vibes.
R15 is a quality machine and a complete one.
                              R15 over RTR anyday.
