      • Oops, I am scraching my head and thinking how I missed this wonderful thread these years....No words Muttu sir...you really deserve great admiration for these hard works. This is really a bike historical museum. Cherish the old memories of me standing infront of the handle bar of vespa150 and my father was dropping me every day to school. That time I saw these bikes on the road. Enfield200,Rajdoot,yezdi, vespa150,lampy, Vijay super,Alwin puspak etc etc. You are great sir. Me visiting coimbatore in between 2 months..Next time I will be in your museum My mail id [email protected]. I am so much interested to buy one lamby or Yezdi road king..hope you can help

Most motorcycle problems are caused by the nut that connects the handle bars to the seat.

                  • Guess- it is a EXPLORER

My Explorer 1985 ( a CKD kit assembled) , was in running condition, when picked couple of years before, but plenty of stock parts missing L I K E....
..Head light fairing, Indicators, Head light, Bing carb ( had the later version MIKCARB),bit noisy power-train{ not powertwin} etc.,
As plenty of big projects on the way....decided to restore this German engineered Explorer CS 50 as a part time resto project!!
                    Project activity:
                    * Sourcing the above mentioned parts, including the upholstery rexine "Bhor '68 ( which was the order on the early Exporers & Furys )

** Completely stripping, painting, plating, galvanizing, electricals fixing, Engine completely redone ( it is Butter smooth now)
Original stickers, Hella head light, German Indicators as bonus
                    & now the bike:

polypropylene Front head light fairing ( later version had the Indian FRP fairing)

Mikarb Carb seems to be a " made for each other"...wonderful fuel efficiency , with marginal power loss, when compared to the German Bing Carburetor ( have a new Bing carb also...no pics @ this juncture will post later)

                    Indicators !!

                    Instruments...& controls

Bhor 68..the fabric that breathes really

                    Hella H/Light>>

                    The BING Carburetor...hold it!!

Need tech spec for this machine??

                    • Superb restoration bro, just like its freshly out from the showroom. but i found that the instrument console is not having the unique Electric RPM meter which is the first of its kind on any Indian bike at that time. or did the first CKD bikes came without it?

Hi, You told that you'll call Monday morning..??
Yes,early Explorers had RPM meters as optional part !!
As the early CKD assembled bikes are " contact breaker Ignition" ( points) No electric pulse for ELECTRIC RPM meter, only CDI bikes can have it, though I have one( a VDO RPM meter), I went on to have that EI logo dummy cap as a stock part instead of having the OPTIONAL stuff

Not much into Enfields in those days, i was a Yamaha Fanboy in the 80's, but interested in the Zundapp bikes.
