With pod filter, it is awesome, but looks odd
Have to sacrifice the Classic looks!!
Space management was a problem with the BOX filter.....& uneven flow duct.....hence this way>>>

    ...
    Next>>>>
refinement of the filter box...paint job...next planned to fix my final jetting, till I get that new appropriate Concentric carburetor...

    • @ dr.cr/Visnu & other Tech buffs!!

As most of us aware of...our VM 24 Mikarb has 95 as the biggest main jet..(leave alone the pilot jet) available
This 95 couldn't quench thirst of this monster......what next??
Couldn't wait till the appropriate Amal Concentric to reach me, even tried with some of my 276 mono-blocs ( sadly all f them had the stock jets , for what they meant for..)
Space management was a major issue with needle & mono-blocs ( not to forget my SR2 magneto down beneath & the rear down tube of the G frame, close to the inlet manifold)
Guess, what my guy is trying to do here>>>

      • yeah, keep it coming. Cant wait to see the Mighty completed.
the G frame chosen to be period correct & building to 60's trim, clever move.

Guess, what my guy is trying to do here>>>
trying to locate a misplaced jet / needle? poor chap. Would the jets from Vm28 go in Vm24 or may be a swap with Re500 or Rd350 carbs for now?.

& also, sometime back i saw this similar work posted on Tbhp.

Edit: which air filter is that? looks foam type.

Thank you for the compliments!!...but long time no see....??

          Hello dr.cr buddy,
I asked you to guess what he must do next...as the mill needs more fuel...with this VM 24 & its 95 main jet!!
None of the other VM ^^ carb's jet will suit your atomizer or find its required position to work with the needle.
So he is trying with a Lambretta 's Delloroto carbs main jet, jet orifice modded..to my hearts desire
Next, will be Solex Carb's main jet...versatile stuff for this kind of trial & error job
your RD& 500's carb are spigot type, not the flanged one.....which we need actually
Even if inlet manifold is modded to accommodate the spigot end..again space problems
The present set up worked fine.....but it worth another try, after my painter completes the paint job to the Air filter box!!
"*Edit: which air filter is that? looks foam type"
No, this is not the FOAM type, it is a Perforated alloy foil & wire mesh!!

that doesnt look like a featherbed to me , featherbeds are supposed to be double cradle types , this one is a diamond with engine as a stressed member

Yep!! though this was not intentional......had a feather bed frame also of a Norton Atlas, wrong pics posted, as all the above discussed things kept in the same room!!
This is a RE Constellation Chassis.....
Expected guys like vinurags to open their fingers.......any way kb has done it!!

Too good. so after test runs the Twin is going to this frame hope tank & tool boxes, casquette etc are there to finish trim. 'Constellation' looks classy than bullet-ish meteors. Infact i was thinking earlier why this newer stronger frame (post '55?) wasn't sourced with the engine if not for cost factors.
Imo RE should have replicated this frame for current Uce machines but as usual clumsy they are. I'd though like an Avl500 in this frame

But could feel the fluttering of the Mill at high RPM, due to disturbed flow of Fuel Air mixture into the engine
As the inside duct of the inlet manifold was like this>>>

So decided to rectify like this>>>>>>

& now it is like this>>>>>

Next to go for pure hand work....polishing the ducts , for smooth flow of F/A mixture
