My dear friends, as many contacted{questioned} in telephone & mails..our Franky came in to the Forum
    ..Sure must share this>>>

( this man Agoram Chandra Sekar ..just introducing his family members at the stage......Not to forget he was the person who gifted me TWO Bajaj CUB Scoots... Gosh!!..No no one can say I went OT !!)

And without these Guys ( my Engineering Batch mates)....this G2G would haven't turned this big...where my Annamalai University haven't seen like this one before in past 70 years>>

Nothing to get bamboozled by the above pics.... But, it is quiet natural for any biker to see these kind of pics in a Bikes related thread!!
My Engineering batch mates (1983-87-- from all the facility) decided to Re CALL the 1987 after 25 years at Chidambaram Annamalai University..& it happened so that many of our NRI buddies came from abroad with their families, but very few few local chaps skipped the function....though I was not the big gun in the organizing committee...but was trying to focus on my mates around the world to get them involved in this Recall ( some time directly or some time indirectly)
Though this Fossil fuel driven Machines drive me mad in to various tangents nearly a decade....but this TWO day Cultural -re-union drove me to Ecstasy ....which I could n express in words...man one should experience to believe it !!!
It is heartening to note how elated our batch-mates and their families felt about the reunion. There were many a "cloud-nine" moments as we recollected and shared from the past. It didn't matter what our friends had become in their professional lives and social status, the banter and the teasy chats were the same as 25 years back!
Last but least one of my batch mate{Dr.Elango), now Head of the Dept at a Famous Engineering college..told me That I need pick his 1987 or '88 KB & add to my collection..hm!! poor Chap who dunno already I have a Kawasaki KH100.....let's see how it turns up

Senior members make a substantial contribution to the forum, I haven't, unfortunately, at least for the last two years. So, in a way I should be thankful to you for sending me the snippets by mail as it made me want to come back to xBhp

                        Just the VIN plate>>

                        you told by the profile>

The one posted here is " ATLAS Speedomatic- Turbo king", yes Atlas speedo matic came in TWO guises, namely " Atlas power King' & Atlas Turbo King, it was the Turbo king, which had Chrome Covers on to the tank & a Atlas Badge.egg shaped Head light etc...
Where as Power king, of powertwin came with Stickers on the tank & side panels and it shared the rectangular shaped Head light of ATLASOLEX.
The special feature of these Atlas Mopeds was the simple Auto Gear Variator system....where no gears employed in business....HOW????
...will explain after quoting to Frank!!!
*...& now here is my other variant from Atlas Speedomatic..." TURBO KING"
.....as it is of the last legs of Atlas mopeds(I)ltd...There was a Change in frame Geometry, few cosmetic changes like rear fender , side panels, Tool Box etc...

SAME power train, but with upgraded porting & a Stub Exhaust (SS), same flat head lights of power king & Atlasolex ( here this particular Turbo king has been modified with TVS XL H/Light

These later versions of TURBO King had lots of ABS plastic, instead of lots of Chrome of the early models>>
TURBO KING -RVX was the name

to my surprise still these rider Instruction STICKER there>>

Anna, the next time I visit a church, I'll light a candle on behalf of the hundreds of students who did not have to undergo the agony of having their answer sheets checked by you. You, Sir, are a miser at giving marks.

Now this really sounds like a student arguing with his teacher that he deserves more marks. You see Anna, you posted the sketch of the Turbo King and I mentioned that it had a chrome tank. I stand vindicated by your own admission later in the post (the underlined portion). Yet only 50%? C'mon Anna, you can do better. At least consider the fact that I've always been a bright student and I give full credit to my teachers.

Jokes apart Anna, this was the only moped giving competition to Hero Majestic in the early 80s until TVS50 came in around the mid-80s. I may be wrong about the relative genealogy of the mopeds but its what I remember. The Atlas speedomatic (Turbo King) stood out because of the vast amount of chrome used and and because of the curved waist of its tank. The Luna, Hero Majestic and TVS50 had parallel lines in their tank shapes.
....these guys disappointed you (even me)....adding lots of plastics instead of Chrome in the later versions>>

& here are the POWER KING pics from earlier post....Now compare TURBO Vs POWER

                                Isn't it ???
Atlas AGV moped were designed so.......to achieve MULTIPLE Gear ratios ,...Now you have to open the video in a separate tab ( to grasp things easily)
Imagine the Engine at idle running or stand still>>>
Engine power has to be transmitted to the " Primary drive" ( primary drive for the rear wheel)
                                This is V belt driven one, so both the DRIVE & DRIVEN pulley should have the same profile of the Belt...{V}
Drive & Driven pulley will be in different diameter ( in our case...drive will be small & the DRIVEN will have Large Diameter......so now as both the pulleys have the same profile ( Included angle of the profile" V")
Now , when the crank starts rotating....Crank pulley[DRIVE] rotates at the speed of the engine ( ignore the belt slip....there will be slippage obviously as it is Belt)
The DRIVE pulley drives the "Primary drive pulley" of the Wheel{ here it is DRIVEN in this system of AGV..i.,e:" Auto Gear Variator"
Now talking about the AGV system alone>>>
                                Crank pulley :>>> DRIVE pulley
Primary drive pulley of the wheel :>>> DRIVEN
Say ..when Drive pulley is running at 500 RPM (idle)
                                & now accelerates from..500....600...700... 2500......
As the Engine is pivoted at a point (a top) & below it is just hanging, pulled & kept at tension by means of coil springs at the bottom
Now by inertia, the engine moves behind...depending on the forces ( here it is RPM)
Whereas The DRIVEN pulley is fixed & starts rotating....BUT...the Belt contact circumference varies...as the included angle of the pulley is same as of the Belt.....thus multiple gear ratios are achieved.....now that is AGV or auto Gear Variator !!
Think have to make few sketches to make things more clear
