Wish this could happen in near future!!!
But,i never thought this Moped with AGV will be tough task for our guys to identify...
Well plz find the pic posted below, where the whole ENGINE is just Suspended from the point A, its suspended with two silent block bushes, so it like hanging from that point, no where it is bolted firmly to chassis....
Hm!! At least now???

Muthu Anna, the profile reminds me of the Atlas Speedomatic (if i recall correctly) - the one which had a chrome tank.

Yes i surrender, i couldn't identify this moped despite my best efforts, but after Rookie raj said it may be an Atlas Speedomatic, i faintly remember the other moped made by Atlas (the first one is Atlasolex)

Yes i got it, there is no swing-arm bush or the swing arm is acting. its a single unit (Engine & swing arm) like the Luna TFR. the entire unit (engine & swing-arm) is suspended.

Spotted !! rookieraj, it is ATLAS Speedomatic, but I would been glad enough, if you have spotted from the word " Auto gear variator"{AGV}and by the previous sketches
Any way marks..but not full..may be 50%
Just the VIN plate>>

you told by the profile>

The one posted here is " ATLAS Speedomatic- Turbo king", yes Atlas speedo matic came in TWO guises, namely " Atlas power King' & Atlas Turbo King, it was the Turbo king, which had Chrome Covers on to the tank & a Atlas Badge.egg shaped Head light etc...
Where as Power king, of powertwin came with Stickers on the tank & side panels and it shared the rectangular shaped Head light of ATLASOLEX.
The special feature of these Atlas Mopeds was the simple Auto Gear Variator system....where no gears employed in business....HOW????
...will explain after quoting to Frank!!!

Why???...
Any way, think now you'll catch up with my previous post and carry out the good job of documenting for our fraternity

you told>>>"Yes i got it,
No, It is the Engine unit (ONLY) is hanging from a point>>>

No where the engine is Firmly fixed to the Chassis (frame), it is just few twisted & torsion springs are just supports the bottom portion of the engine>>

All others are similar to our Heros & Suvega s , has a conventional rear swinging arm, ( this is not like TFR or Puch ---the whole thing acting as Swing arm)
Then , Where comes the " Auto gear variator"???
Think buddy thinK !!
Here is the pic of my POWER KING>>

Ah!! it should be ATLAS speedomatic- power king>>

PS: One more special thing about this Machine, this is the only Indian Moped to have 2.25X 18" tires, which is out of production since 1990....can some one help me in getting a pair of 2.25X18" tires??

Muthu Anna, i was a 12/13 year old when these mopeds were on their last legs. Even if I were a reincarnate of Einstein I wouldn't have known the difference between AGV and something else at that age. Even now, when Frank says that it does not have a swingarm bush, it leaves me very confused.you can understand how technically challenged I am!

Anna, the next time I visit a church, I'll light a candle on behalf of the hundreds of students who did not have to undergo the agony of having their answer sheets checked by you. You, Sir, are a miser at giving marks.

Now this really sounds like a student arguing with his teacher that he deserves more marks. You see Anna, you posted the sketch of the Turbo King and I mentioned that it had a chrome tank. I stand vindicated by your own admission later in the post (the underlined portion). Yet only 50%? C'mon Anna, you can do better. At least consider the fact that I've always been a bright student and I give full credit to my teachers.

Jokes apart Anna, this was the only moped giving competition to Hero Majestic in the early 80s until TVS50 came in around the mid-80s. I may be wrong about the relative genealogy of the mopeds but its what I remember. The Atlas speedomatic (Turbo King) stood out because of the vast amount of chrome used and and because of the curved waist of its tank. The Luna, Hero Majestic and TVS50 had parallel lines in their tank shapes.

Soon I will post some sketches, pics & may be video also to explain the simple "Auto gear variator", where no gears involved
As 'am bit tight with some important domestic work, find no time to post now..for sure will do it by the course of this week!!
But, next one be Indian bike of mid '60 s with rotary valve 2 stroke, which you can't ( or wont ) avoid or miss to spot it right

Muthu sir,

Awesome acquisition!

one few pearls i can see around on south side.

Yes sure yamaha pearl is elder brother of M50/80 with common front Hydraulic shock absorbers and leading link. with or without stablizer..

but still pearl is an younger brother of his own family in cronological order with U50 (1965) later yamaha V50 mate called as V50. v series with two stroke mill and share almost simillar frame structure.

still on orginal paint shade sea green color

Sir is this with autolube ? newest technology of that era..

glued and waiting for updates..

Hope it has carburetor inside RH case like KB100 also this should be wet clutch, probabally foot operated gear lever.(pedal) can't able to see clutch lever.. step thru auto clutch hope i will get some good marks now

also it should have 4 speed gear box compared to Bajaj M80 3speed gear box.

I rode both Pearl Yamaha and Bajaj M-50 in the mid 1980's (didn't own it) but u cannot compare the M-50 /80 with the Yamaha. there is a striking resemblance in the looks department, but there is no comparison to the Pearl Yamaha's engine to the M-50.

After reading this post, i went back to mid 1980's and one incident came flooding back to my memory, one day when i was zipping through thick traffic on my RX-100 its around 7 PM, a bike very similar to M-50 overtook me in a flash and i really had tough time keeping up with him. in those days the RX was the king in 100 cc class, so there is a blunt rule that no other bike can match with it when the engine enters the POWER BAND. So, at last i caught him when the railway gate is closed, and to my surprise, its a Pearl Yamaha, i asked the rider that we'll exchange the bikes for a few kilometers, he agreed and i rode the bike and surprised again to find its super zippy in the traffic.

Surprised because this bike has a clutch-less Toe & heel shifter (first time in India)
