  • Thanks a lot for opening the thread MG.....

Guys, I am planning for a big event again.... we can book the track for a couple of days (or a single day) and from morning to evening.... However i require atleast 20 people willing to come and will not back out under any circumstances at the last moment.....
the dates are not fixed and people can pool in suggestions also..... then we can arrive at a final decision as to when this event can be done.....

The track is booked most of the days..... People let me know how many are interested, i will have to work out the budget according to it.....

One Whole day, track is All ours.....

If people want to know about accommodation, let me know.... Anything can be arranged....

Now we have hotels very close to the track.... SO common guys let me know.....

I dun plan to take more than 20 - 25 riders, so first come first serve basis.... Any doubts please post here.....

    • SAFETY PRECAUTIONS FOR THE TRACK DAY / RIDER BRIEFING

These are a set of instructions that should be followed during the event to avoid unnecessary confusions at the venue. These are NOT rules being imposed on anyone. These are instructions given to beginners for their safety.
      1. Everyone should be wearing a riding jacket with elbow and shoulder protectors. NO DENIM JACKETS OR PLAIN LEATHER JACKETS WILL BE ENTERTAINED.
      2. Gloves are mandatory for any rider planning to ride on the tracks.
      3. Shoes which cover the ankle must be used. Snickers are NOT entertained.
      4. Use of a knee and shin slider or a knee guard is recommended.
      5. The visor of the helmet should always be closed when riding on the track.
      6. Everyone should go around the tracks only in the clockwise direction (Even in the pits) to avoid confusion and any mishaps.
      7. If a person is willing to come into the pits, he should sit up raise one of his hands after exiting the final corner. This is to indicate the rider behind of your intentions.
      8. When a rider enters the race track from the pits, he is to look behind (at the entry of c1) and then enter the track after everyone is gone.
      9. Hooliganism will not be entertained at any point of time. Remember we are not going there to race, but to know about track riding.
      10. If you have any experts on your tail (e.g.: Killer, Joel) try to give way and learn their lines by observing them.
      11. Overtaking is to be done in proper racing style to avoid any accidents, i.e. an overtaking maneuver is to be carried out strictly on the racing line to avoid collision. This clearly explains that one can overtake if the rider in front fails to apex a corner.
      12. Borrowing bikes is allowed only on mutual agreement. Under a condition” YOU BREAK IT, YOU FIX IT”.
      13. Photographers can walk around the track with proper footwear. (keep a look out for snakes. I remember having eye contact with one for three consecutive laps at the chicane before the bridge.)
      14. If a rider finds an oil leak anywhere, try to keep a distance from those patches and avoid sudden braking or acceleration when on them. (Mostly you fill find saw dust already spread on it, so it won’t be difficult to spot them).
      15. Once the red flag is out at the start line, everyone is to make an orderly entry into the pits.
      16. If you have crashed and even if your bike is in ride-able condition, you will stand down and not enter the track again, there will be a help bike who will come and pick you from the place you have crashed. After sometime, you may get on the track again.

Made a few changes to the list. Riding gear is COMPULSORY. NO ONE WILL BE ALLOWED TO RIDE WITH SLEEVELESS T-SHIRTS, HALF FACE HELMETS, AND DENIM JACKETS.

We are XBHPians, and lets do it that way !!!

            • @all : I spoke to the personnel at the track....
He says if the track has to be officially blocked it would take 1 lac for one day......... which is WAAAAAYYYYY outside our budget..... However if this is on a weekday, he gave his word that the track would be ours for both the morning and afternoon session, and he also said that the track remains free on that day.....

so basically, the track will be free for us from morning to evening.... and unofficially blocked, but it will be only at the pay and practice rates.... 400 / session.... so 800 for 2 sessions.......

and the track is booked on all the weekeneds from december 3rd to March.....
so how many people are comfortable with the track day during the weekday........

The new year and the christmas leaves can be put to the best use.... How many people for this ???

              • I'm in for this event, though it all depends on whether anyone is willing to spare me their gear. Nevertheless i would atleast come to the track and walk around it, i'm pretty experienced in going around the track on foot!

EDIT: I would prefer a weekday to a weekend, and Dec/Jan should give me about enough time to collect 800 rupees plus
