Wd be buying my pair of Knee guards tom probably.

Also, if anyone has done the Pune Vadodara route it would be great if I could have some suggestions and directions about the route, road conditions and all.

    cheerz all and drive safely.
The route is simple enough and has great roads once you enter Gujarat.

Hit Thane and and follow NH8 north. You could halt for a while in Daman and have a look around the place if time permits.

Travel north towards Surat. Surat has really bad ass traffic so be careful around there. Further north the highway will go through Ankleshwar.

There's two options here - A left from Ankleshwar will take you through Bharuch and a one and a half lane 150 year old bridge. Its in good condition but is very prone to jams since its so narrow.

The other option is longer by 15-20 kms and is a highway but supposedly has a lot of heavy vehicle traffic and requires special attention. I'd suggest this longer route. Waiting 2 hours to cross a 300mtr bridge isn't worth it.

After that its a nice straight smooth "Modi" road right till Baroda. You'll enjoy it.

Just make sure that you plan to reach Baroda before dark. I'm assuming this isn't your first time on the highway.

    Above all, ride safe.

Many thanks for the inputs .. would make sure I have notes for them. Though, its not for the first time as have done distances of ~350 odd kms around Delhi in the past. But, its good to know the route beforehand.
Will share my trip logs with you guys if I go ahead with the trip.

      cheers and drive safely.

Hi Shashvat as vivek wrote route is awesome, about the current state of the roads they are n very good state, i did that route last week from pune to ahemedabad and back (left on Thursday returned on Saturday).

From Pune leave as early as you can otherwise Mumbai traffic can kill you in terms of time and reach thane then head towards ghodbandar (for landmark reach Fountain hotel its well known) then hit NH8 few kms are bad since construction of flyovers is going on after that its all butter smooth 6 lane highways waiting for you to rip hard ...

Just a question, can the induction ride be shifted to 04/12/2011? If yes, that would be great! If not, no issues, I will still join in anyhow.

                            I don't think there is a Shell 15W50.
                            If it's FS, you're talking about that's Shell Advance Ultra - 10W-40.

                            I'm not 100% sure though!

Btw, what is the Special offer?

I downloaded that right after coming back from the G2G, not sure this or some other link. I had seen some of it in bits and pieces earlier on youtube. It looked pretty informative and shot in a way that is enjoyable and not a classroom session type DVD ..

Yet to see the full DVD. perhaps will watch that tomorrow. If someone has difficulty in downloading, I can bring it on a pen drive during next G2G.

                              Cheers

AFAIK there is no 15w50 FS bike engine oil from Shell. If this is something new then I am not aware.

Friendly advice : DON'T BUY SHELL HELIX FOR YOUR BIKE. IT IS A CAR ENGINE OIL.
