My 15 year old son is looking for a good cycle. Not of the type where the rider looks like he has reverse tetanus but a sensible one, with an upright position. And no, no Hercules/Hero/Atlas milkman transport either. I have gone thru the bicycle thread but no joy. Can any of us give me some gen about such cycles?

You can check out cycles from FANTOM. I have been using one for more than a year and have no complaints. I took mine from here.

Cornering is preferred than off-roading

+1 on the Mulshi route, though its fun in june as well but july/aug/sept are the ideal timings to do this route

one more small suggestion, instead of taking Mulshi villege route from Amby valley shall we take Pavana dam route. This routes road conditions are RELATIVELY BETTER as well as scenic and directly reaches Paud.

Anything that allows me to avoid the highway is good for me. I travel to-from mumbai so many times that I am bored of that route
