Re: The Official Pune Offline Meet(G2G) Thread
yesterday me, pankaj, deepak and some bikernis rode from pune-bhor-varandha-mahad-tamhini-pune. Total ride 274 kms. Got offroad, thin lane in ghats with good tarmac, fog and ofroad at tamhini.
Overall a very good ride in the non stop rains.
Those who are bored with panchgini-lonavala and other places can try this route as its a mix of everything.

We've been to there many times before rain , but the road condtion was always pathetic on the ghat area.
Just wanted to know if it has new tarmac like the Poladpur section has now ?sigpic

+1 to that. I had done this route in Apr 2012 prior to the Leh trip. Then, the ghat sections had excellent surfaces. It had been summer time so very hot; I had had to gulp three glasses of nimbu-pani in quick succession. A lovely picnic area.Originally posted by shrinathrao View Postyesterday me, pankaj, deepak and some bikernis rode from pune-bhor-varandha-mahad-tamhini-pune. Total ride 274 kms. Re: The Official Pune Offline Meet(G2G) Thread
kuntalnag - Roads are narrow but condition is better and we were doing like 50-60ish and the roads were ok. we reached on the top and than got down to mahad - nh17 and while getting down the roads were a bit broad but had lot of pot holes and many were on hair pin bends. But still it was sustainable as tamhini from dam all the way till tata power second gate it was pathetic and i feel tamhini roads would be washed away in some days as it happens every year.Originally posted by kuntalnag View PostCould you please update about the road condition on Varandha ghat ?

Yes exactly, i guess you might have felt the Varandha ghat roads a bit better as Tamini was your next destinationOriginally posted by shrinathrao View Post@kuntalnag - Roads are narrow but condition is better and we were doing like 50-60ish and the roads were ok. we reached on the top and than got down to mahad - nh17 and while getting down the roads were a bit broad but had lot of pot holes and many were on hair pin bends.
