And I'll try get my gear asap, can someone please tell what is 'absolutely compulsory' for rides so that i procure that stuff first (I've read the first page rules but I'll try to get the important stuff earlier). thanks.

Welcome Sirhud. There are several good riders in Pune group who will be able to pass on tips. Honest advise is first borrow gear from someone from the group and use it. Keep buying one thing at a time (if don't want to spend much at one go....that is what I did) But DO NOT BUY CHEAP PRODUCTS. I made a mistake when I joined new in buying something cheap but it was pathetic in quality so had to again go and buy good quality stuff.

@ Rohit - If you want, you can collect gear from me today evening itself.

I dont know where to get it from... the Astars one is too expensive, Cramster doesnt list it anymore... so looks like I have ran out of options!

ok...thanks..yeah i want to buy good quality gear only so i'll buy it one by one..cool..and yeah btw even my r15's running in is going on...its done around 840 kms and i'm supposed to get the first service at 1000km which will be done on or before saturday's ride...so should i still go for the ride to lavasa or get the bike serviced earlier?

Honest Advice... Please get your bike serviced before joining us in any of the ride.Most people tend to rip on butter smooth NH4 above 90-100+kmph.You might feel left behind and in order to catch up with us you might exceed the otherwise adviced limit.This is not suggested.First get your bike in action.You can always join us in other rides if not this one. The first 1000 kms are very very important for the now virgin bike...this is where the engine gets used to your way of riding,each and every part of your machine flexes it muscles.

come for the ride u will cross 1000km mark in this ride... then service it....

I have a FZ16 with me for my dispossal if you forgot.... That 30K claim is for another FZ I know off!!

How many bikes have you got? Do you have some Rent-a-Bike service? RTR 160 LE,R15,Jive......

IHave you ran out of all the tension level points for the chain? @15k its very unlikely!

I guess...I don't have much idea about this! Yamaha SVC at Wakdewadi said so.

lol guys i'm getting different advice from you guys only lol...if i have to get it serviced earlier then i'll try to ride as much as i can and reach close to 1000 and get it serviced tomorrow...otherwise i'll let it roll naturally and do it after the ride hopefully it shouldn't cross 1050-1100 kms...and yeah i cannot go above 100kmph right now........so ??

Please go to lavasa even if run in period is not over. Ankit thought you were joining Surojit and team on a ride on NH4 so he advised you not to go there.

Please take extreme care while riding to Lavasa. Please do not try to match speeds of senior riders. Some of them have a home in Lavasa so spend half the time there and know each and every corner like back of their respective hands. At least couple of the riders will give you company so don't worry about your lower speeds.

Please do understand that above para is not preaching but a genuine advise.

p.s.- avoid the shop - probikers on MG road. It sells absolutely third grade material.

the bold underlined ones hold their ground. Avoid probiker at all costs.

Lavasa is a risky place as it is..add to that the roads will be slippery due to dew/moisture/rains.

Dont be jittery or scared about the place tho...lotsa good ppl who will tend to you and your fears at lavasa like you were paying them good money.
