        lol, BTW how did you measure? Using GPS or old traditional methods... Some of our friends dont believe in modern mechanisms.

            @Vishwas I was doing my SY @ COEP when the helmet rule came into effect in Pune back in 2005. I used to wear my helmet back then. But then i saw protests and processions of the Anti-Helmet lobby followed by harrassment in old city areas (my bike used to get picked up by the police from legitimate parking spots as it had a helmet locked on it. this happened on multiple occasions.) On enquiring why this was done.. I was told(eventually) that if you have money to buy a helmet, you certainly have the money to pay the fines. Finally, feeling cheated, i eventually stopped wearing the helmet.

            Such is the attitude of the law enforcers. Rarely do I see even traffic cops wearing a helmet. How can they enforce the law when they themselves dont follow it? Serously, no amount of city rides/ helmet awareness rallies can change the scenario. We seriously need a PIL. Even cities like Lucknow are following the rule. Why cant pune?

              Its in Vogue.. Thts why most people use it. Traditional Mechanisms like Email.. Phone and SMS.. You still use to maintain contact... Right.

              First people used Blogging to.. Then came Orkut..Loads of people migrated to Orkut to share stuff... then came facebook.. and people
              migrated to it.. Somewhere in middle came the Gtalk.. and people still use it... And then came twitter.. Lot of people joined it.

              Now people hardly use Orkut. After some time only few people will use facebook or twitter. New platforms will keep emerging and people will keep migrating on them. But traditional mechanisms like Email, Phone calls & sms are gonna stay for a long time. Think in this way.. I am sure you call up people whom you want to talk to urgently.. and not ping them on FB. And this will remain always.

              I am not Anti-Social networking.. neither I am a follower.

                                A 1000 years back, when even the Phone and SMS did not exist, people still maintained contacts. Why not chuck those two needless things as well?
