      Chill man. Anti Allergic..

Anyways, I have a a little confusion. I remember, in all the previous Monsoon Rides we did follow the same formation and were in a single file.
AFAIK,The Ride Discipline was there. Very Much there.

      • Open roads do tempt to really speedup, my observation was that ride to RK's minimum speed of 70 - 75 is reasonable for all barring being stuck behind some traffic we could have been closer convoy, for hills everyone has their comfort level so each to their limits, having lights on I noticed helps in finding the rider tailing you, I did find it bit strange at start of ride at CC but it is helpful.

same here man ! take care of your nose !

@all : thanks for the great company...had a good ride ! see you all soon

          @dk : kai dk bhau..jau dya na

@rockrz: hope that grass is still not itching !

I thought that if I had grass, i would get high ... but for the first time, i realised that if you take it from behind, even then you will get high... but on scratching my a$$ out.. lol ... buggers, i had to disinfect my chaddi and "you know what" so that it did not itch....

coming to the serious part, yesterday, i chickened out on a nice smooth flowing corner, and went offroad... technically speeking, i could have taken the corner had the thought of crashing not crossed my mind.. the thought of crashing chickened me out, so i decided to stop, theni realised that i would stop in the middle of the road so while in motion, i swered to the side of the road, then i realised that there is no side of the road so i went down a gentle slope and stopped on the grass. details are as follows:- (my analysis of the situation)

I had taken the previous corners at higher speeds, but this time, I chickened out mid corner, So i tried to slow down. I had almost stopped on the road, but since I was chickened out, and i did not want to be in the way of the person coming from behind, i went off the road, and stopped (after a negotiating the slope). My legs were trembling so when the bike stopped, i could not maintain the balance and the bike fell to the side and I lay on the ground. i lay for a couple of seconds since i could not muster up the courage to get up. soon, nin noticed that i was missing so he stopped ahead of the corner and noticed that i was lying on the grass. as soon as I felt ok, i got up, picked up the bike, took it up the slope and resumed the journey...

          The damages:-
1 The rear brake lever bent (was bent earlier but it was usable )
2 A shattered self confidence of taking corners... rest of the day, i was cornering (at 35kmph) with trembling hands and cursing myself for tipping the bike.

          The lesson learnt:-
1 A slow corner is better than a chickened out corner.
2 If you think that you will crash, you definately are gonna crash. so better to try to lessen the impact of the crash rather than avoid it completely.

@Sharan Arre normally I always carry basic medication in my tankbag (including anti allergics)... it just so happened yesterday that my tankbag happens to be somewhere in Tamil Nadu as I type this .

Sounds like a super hero rendition of a usual low side to me

You chickened out? Why? Lavasa does strange things to bikers

If I am leading a group of 11 bikes downhill from Amby(with a continuously running nose) {I Guess thats where you fell down.} How am I supposed to know if no.9 had a fall? Especially when no.2 to no.6 dont stop and ALSO after nobody tells what happened...

hey no thanks man... It was a good experience... and I must admit it was a very disciplined ride to and from Pune.... As I was tailing I could see that people were following the ground rules and riding in a straight line/staggered formation. No unnecessary overtaking...no unnecessary ripping.. it was a smooth ride.

If you had seen me then you could have signalled me to stop.

                          • @rockrz: ask me how it feels when the rider riding in front of you disappears in no time despite the roads ahead being clearly visible with the curves....if i hadnt stopped and looked down the 'gentle' slope...i(for that matter even sharan) wouldnt have even noticed you

anyways no need to lose confidence cause of this man...mistakes do happen..we fall..but we should never fail to rise again...and im glad you did..you could...

now quickly come up with the pics...especially the one showing everyone's paunch

@shrinath: you were way ahead then...and do you expect a rider lying down in a valley from where he isnt easily visible to hand signal to you...and YOU ??

buddy, why are you taking the blame? i sincerely believe that you did your part right..

I did not tell this to anyone cos it wasnt even a crash and there was no damages.. I mean, I did not fall of the bike while riding it. I chickened, so slowed in the middle of the road, realised that i am in the middle of road and slow, so went to the sides, over shot the end of road, went down a gentle slope (riding the bike) stopped on grass (when the slope ended), and then came back on the road. After reaching home, i had gone with my mom for some shopping and i was having calls from office so i switched off the phone.... lol...

btw, i felt suicidal after this incedent. had i not chickened out or if i had taken the decision of not going off-road after slowing considerably, i would have simply riden at slow speeds. but in such situations, the mind often takes decisions that can be later be thought as stupidity or ametuerish or plainly suicidal. but i guess thats the way we learn to face them the next time... hard way of learning!!

@satyen... This does seem hilarious but it wasnt a low slide.. the bike never slipped. while mid corner, i suddenly felt scared so slowed, then thought crossed that nin would crash into me if i stopped on the road, so after i slowed, i went to the side with the intention of stopping but i stopped after i went off the road and on the grass. then my trembling legs could not balance the bike so it tipped and i lay on the grass and since i was not confident enough to get back on my feet again, i lay down for 30 seconds before i picked the bike and started riding again.

well, i would like to disuss this in the g2g so that i dont make this an offline pune crash thread... lol
