How about painting all body in shiny black/grey to match your silencer? You can also go in for chrome plating silencer to retain that nice shiny feel. I heard that your shiny silencer is a chick magnet. Is it true? If yes, I also need to repaint my bike asap

It is available at any hardware shop but as he has mentioned, it is not useful for using on silencer.

Yes. Never heard some1 using the spray on a silencer.

Actually the Bosny Heat resistant paints are fine on my exhaust no issues so far, its been around 6 months. The thing is that i dont like the color so planning to change it.

Do these paints really work on something like a silencer??? I never knew this.

I believe that you would need powder coating to be done for your silencer. Any paint would not last long on silencer. Also power coating is not a job for couple of hours. It is more like 3-4 days.

Oh yes indeed it is a chick magnet . Why waste money repainting your bike,lets swap our steeds wat say

Jokes apart,i called up the TVS factory today and asked them to connect to the customer care. I told him my situation and asked of the specification of the paint and the process of repainting. He said he was neither aware of the process nor the paint specs. I asked him to give me a solution for this as the dealer has rejected any paint jobs and a new silencer assembly costs 6k.

He said he had indeed got the alloys and silencer of his RTR powder coated with a matte finish paint and he did not exactly know any other terms used for this.He said the whole process took him 2-3 days,like you ve mentioned, for coating and curing and the exhaust alone costed around 750 bucks. He suggested me to take it to a good paint booth where they do painting for cars and they would know it.

So,ninja chacha and others please suggest a good place for getting this done and i am assuming they will be able to remove the existing paint.

I got the bosny from a hardware store in empire estate complex,chinchwad. There was no mention of it being a heat resistant paint and the color code was No.39-Black. Assuming you have an R15 from your profile pic,AFAIK it does not have a chrome exhaust ,correct me if i am wrong. And after this experience i do not think spray paints are the way to go for exhausts.In fact the paint on the front most part of the silencer (entry) has already started peeling off,I ve just noticed.
