Why not stick to NH17. The roads are brilliant, (enticing and dangerous too) but way more interesting than the NH4 and would save you some 80-100KMs!Originally posted by kartikmavani View Post

Last night was at Ekvira dhaba re-living old memories with my wife.. the chicken handi and beer still roCks man!
@kartik.... Your original plans fine. You'll be sleeping at night on DAY 2 & will be fresh to ride back on day 3; hence you'll skip the weekend rush and You should get accommodation at a reasonable price as well.

4 days will do more justice to the beautiful place you are going to visit
since you guys have 3rd day as reserve, then make it fixed plan. you can visit 'Sindhudurga Fort', which is at Malvan in the morning, have delicious malvani fish curry for lunch and go to Kunkeshwar, which is about 50 (ish) kms from Tarkarli. The road to Kunkeshwar goes through Devgad, very famous for Alphonso Mango. So, you will see lot of mango trees on both sides of the road. Kunkeshwar is such a calm place (if there is no local festival or something like that). you can call me, my number is (#@)#%%%^# if you want contact details of a few people there or need to know more........
Suzuki Samurai (2003-2004)

NH17 is the road we all should be riding on mandatorily !
Especially now when it has improved a lot !
A very good and safe biker not only because he can pop up either of the wheels, scrape his knees on a corner or go fast and make it look stylish but because he very well knows his limits and capabilities and has the patience to learn about others and ride safe ! :)

Is scuba diving allowed now in Malvan. Last time I visited Sindhudurga fort, we were informed that Scuba diving had not started, also there is around 1 week training before u can actually go diving. I had visited the place around a year and a half back. We finally ended up doing only snorkeling.

Deepan

) Scuba diving does not require you to know swimming. I am not a swimmer!
Even if you know swimming a diving instructor always accompanies new divers. of course it cost us a bomb there(or may be coz it was dollars & everything was multiplied by 55
).
The basic course began with getting used to snorkeling equipment i.e. breathing through your mouth with your nose clipped and close (Due to the mask) and the getting used to fins (the bigger task)

Point is; whether the tarkarli dive site that well equipped??
