i rode her for 70km odd last evening in a downpour & loved the confidence inspiring supple ride that she is [stark contrast to what the avenger is]
was still in 'eco' mode throughout & closer to the dahisar-end twisties of ghodbunder when i glanced @ the speedo... i was doing 92kph...
DaFakkkk!!! i said to myself... i was doing sub-90 speeds & it felt as if i were doing 50!!!
on the flip side, by the time i came back home, she was full of chikkhal chikkhal mudd mudd...
need to find somebody in my locality who can wash the bike just as meticulously as i would!
till then, i will have to stress my tired bones n wash / lube her myself every sunday!

@neil9381 : folks riding to nagaon, alibaug this weekend... details a few pages earlier or on a separate thread as anniversary g2g.

@Adarsh_Bk : a full fledged review will take a while since i dont think i will ride her in rains - washing / cleaning / lubing her is gonna be too much of a pain in the butt! LOL! ;-)

experience based on 70-odd km of riding in pouring rains on 'moon-surface' ghodbunder road in near-pitch black below:

pro's:
1. true-blue confidence inspiring handling - feels as if talons have emerged out of tyres & are gripping the road [even better than the r15]
2. bike feels truly planted in head-on & cross-winds - both situations
3. the bike makes a mockery of twisties in wet - munches twisties for supper & doesn't even burp!
4. the throttle should be referred to as your girlfriends b**bs &/or wifeys temper... it needs to be 'coaxed' - fiddle around w/ it in aggression & ur royal behind will be on the tarmac in a blink of an eye.

con's:
1. headlights, headlights & headlights! damn! the blasted stock fitment lacks adequate throw, spread, reach & brightness of the beam! i was blinded on some occasions due to the bedazzled light of oncoming vehicles - this is one area that needs an immed fix. the high-beam is a joke. period!
2. fully-laden weight is an OOMPH! i am by no means frail. however if ever this machine gets horizontal, i dont think i will be able to get it vertical, all on my own.
3. heat-blast from the engine & parts of the engine exposed to my right calf / right knee cause a knee-jerk reaction - literally! ok, so i was @ fault riding her in half-chaddis w/o any protection from my waist below, however touching the exposed right-side engine parts, especially while taking high-speed twisties resulted in an immediate 'OMFG Ouchh!' - cant call this a fault though as this will be negligible / non-existent once a rider is fully clothed!

and i got her from a common friend of many a folks around here [@shrek @Sachinnair @gsferrari, etc- not a peti-pack - a pre-worshipped one that she is - has 3k on the odo & all accessories loaded [Akra being a part of it] - had she been a new one, i wud certainly not afford an Akra out of my own pocket :P

[MENTION=62783]neil9381[/MENTION] : oh... well g2g in mumbai will take a while prolly, especially since most folks are planning for the anniversary ride this weekend. once they are back, those who are married will woo their wives for permitting them to make this trip. those who are single will try to find yet another reason to get drunk & get horizontal! so a g2g in mumbai will prolly take a backseat!

[MENTION=61028]whymail[/MENTION]: Be rest assured the N650 you have bought is from a person who is one of the most sober riders I have rode with. The bike is as good as new and consider yourself lucky that it has all the mods already in place. No painful waiting, no showroom hassle, no run in trouble.

Regarding headlights, you can switch the stock bulb's to Extreme Vision or Osram. I use Extreme vision and it's a huge improvement over stock unless you are on a suicidal mission where you are required to do 150+ at night.

I am not sure if they have mechanic qualified enough to fit the bulb in your bike so dont take any chance and fit it from the service centre. Anyways, the service centre is just 2-3 kms away from Babloo motors.

Dont get the bulbs fitted by local mechs of Babloo, rather take it to the palmbeach SVC. And congrats on your ride.
