This is the route that I took on a trip to Aurangabad last year :-
NH3 ->> Asangaon ->> Shahapur ->> Kasara Ghat ->> Igatpuri (Bypass) ->> Ghoti ->> Turn Right for Sinnar ->> Kopargaon Junction ->> Yeola ->> head straight to Vaijapur ->> AURANGABAD.
and I must tell you we enjoyed like anything as the roads were great. However, as far as I remember, the road between Kopargaon junction and Vaijapur was in a really bad condition. Please check on that if you could. There is another route that you can take.. I believe you will have to go through Pune-Ahmednagar road .. Not sure on this route though.

Yes it was, And Road of Mahableshwar's are full of twist & curves loved that part, just got stuck in mind... ^_^
