Nothing much, since its not a very long trip . If you are going through lonavala-Aamby valley route, its only around 270 kms. Get a hold of a puncture repair kit if you feel the need. Since the 150F has tubeless tires you could pretty much repair any punctures yourself. Tool kit and vehicle documents is a must. Take at least 1ltr of water, some snacks like biscuits, energy bars and a maybe a handful of 50 paise sweets. You don't want to go hungry or thirsty in case you get stranded somewhere. Also take a portable mobile charger or extra cell battery. Inform your whereabouts to your friends or family every hour or so. Good luck. Ride safe

mahabi is not a long ride friend.
its a breakfast / lunch ride for most from pune / mumbai if u r going via NH4 [if u r taking NH17 - may the lord have mercy on u till u cross mangao]
the entire section passes thru civilization & u will never be far from help - if any such is ever needed.
        some pointers [for nh4]
        1. if u starting early from mumbai > vashington > ulwe > palaspe section is quiet windy - keep urself insulated
        2. the khalapur > khopoli section has moderate level of fog / mist in early morning - look far ahead before u ride
        3. thereafter, lons > pune > katraj bypass > shirwal > shirur > waiee > panchgani > mahabi is a great simple ride [khambatki ghat & pasarni ghat are 2 great twisty-sections enroute]

        some pointers [for nh17]
        1. if u r taking the mumbai > vashington > wahal > chirner > shitol > pen > wadkhal > sukeli > kolad - u will pretty much get p|ssed due to the crazy mental traffic. the road widening activity has been going on @ this section of nh17 ever since the times of ramayana & will prolly go on till the end of next millenia!
        2. this section, during early mornings, is full of 3 things:
        - moronic drivers driving on wrong side of the road
        - dust & dense smog & pollution
        - crazy truck traffic
        3. once u r ahead of mangaon - thats where the real bliss of nh17 comes in to play & what an orgasmic route this is thereafter.
        4. ride down to poladpur - indulge in "missile"-pav @ local hotels there - take left road towards mahabi @ the poladpur fork.
        5. for next 40 kms u ride what cud have been one of the states most glorious twisties sections - sadly, thanks to the government - this section is "moon surface" for most part of the year.
        6. so u reach mahabi after navigating thru bone jarring potholes, crazy aggressive "laal-dubbas" & overall a tiring ride, which otherwise could have been orgasmic, had the road surface been right.

i guess that's all that's there to it.

keep urself hydrated - stop for a su-su break every 30-45 mins - ease out those sore butt-muscles & drink some water - walk around a bit n saddle up again.

        godspeed!

Guys let's do something different this new year. Instead of drinking or partying, let's have a offline meet followed by a night ride to some hilly point like lions point lonavala or something. What say

            Hey buddy,
The roads will be jammed for lions point lonavala. Every other party person would be heading out in those directions.

                u have a point there.
but if people are interested, alternate points can be found for this shindig...
easiest would be the old highway right off the express highway from where one can see the dukes nose
if people are interested, there is another road which goes towards some village midway from the express highway.
thats completely devoid of traffic so no hazard at all...

Sounds good. Let's see who all are in for the plan.
Was actually looking to ride somewhere and camp out to bring the new year in.

Hey guys, can anyone from mumbai say which KTM SVC is good and which one is bad? I usually go to goregaon SVC but their attitude isn't at all professional. Is andheri SVC good?
