Re: Suggestion Required for getting Duplicate Invoice

Hi Experts,

It would be of immense help if anyone can help me in finding email id of Bajaj Probiking Showroom in Vashi.

I have tried Bajaj website to find the dealer's contact but in vain. Since I have relocated to Karnataka with my Maharashtra Bike, I have to pay LTT for my bike. Now to calculate the LTT Karnataka RTO requires invoice copy of my bike which I have misplaced. I have tried to contact customer service of Bajaj Auto and as per their reply I have to get in touch with the dealer. I am not sure the if the Probiking Center still exists! How can I get the duplicate copy of the Invoice? Any other way if anyone can suggest?

Hi bro,
I am not an expert but I read many times that if you are moving from one state to another you should sell the bike and buy another one registered in that state.. May be because of Hassel in transferring papers.. If you have the RC book and other docs in place you can opt for that. I wish someone might be able to give you a better suggestion ..

Hello fellow riders,

I am Vishakh from Kerala and I recently got shifted to Mumbai. I ride an ZMA and I love riding. I am planning to bring my ride to Mumbai but a bit worried as my ride is KL registered. All papers are clear but I will be staying roughly one year in Mumbai now so I dont want to change my registration. Is it ok? will it be too much hassle if cops catch me?. I would love to join you for future rides.

Don't change registration if you are here just for a year. But contact any RTO agent/driving school or your residence area's RTO directly and pay the temporary tax. It won't be much.

Here the cops will catch you daily, more than once a day, day & night. Outside registrations are easy picking for them.

I agree.. Not sure of the RTO procedures catch an agent or search it on the web.

as long as you are riding KL registered bike with KL licence, there is no problem.
in my office there are many bikes from AP, PB, HR, KA and UP. some of them are crossed even 2 years in Mumbai.
in traffic hours, cops don't have time to look at number plate. but yeah, chances of you to be pulled on side of road are more. if you can speak Hindi well, you can deal with it in no money. carry all the original docs all the time.

Thanks a ton for the info guys, so I bring my bike there carry a couple of petrol receipts from back here and all original documents. I can ride there for a year with peace of mind? I really don't wanna get my ride impounded and pay life time tax to get it out. Also should I pay one year tax in rto? Any other legal formalities?

It should not be an issue if you have all valid paper and other doc...

I found very less information about this route, hence started a thread On Motorcycle - Travel Plan - Mumbai to Kolkata (10th September 2015)

I request you to share your ideas and suggestions about the itineraries and safety precautions on the mentioned thread.
We shall also keep updating about our plans and post travel pics on that thread.
