Nothing like a long day's trip,really long... to kone falls and to be back on time for F1 race day.Also to find out the freaking water is hot,before you can take a shower.Nothing like a day full of adventures.Happy friendship day guys.

A "short" trip to Kone falls:

Ganesh(undefineme03) and I met up today morning at 5.20 near Loyola college, and started off to Meet Ganesh(Aargee) near the Puzhal Junction. We reached Puzhal Junction by 5.45 thanks to the traffic free roads and started on towards Kailasa Kona AKA Kone Falls. Aargee knew that we had to take a left on the Kolkatta NH to head towards the andhra border. While we were discussing routes, Deepak called up saying he is riding all alone towards Kone and wanted the route. After Aargee had given the route, we moved on to hit periya palayam, to cross the TN border and Head towards Puttur. As we started off from the arch which would take us to Periyapalayam, the roads started to get from OK to Bad to worse, too many pot holes and dumb ass pedestrians were making us stick to 20's at most of the streches. It only got worse when we entered periyapalayam. periyapalayam being a Religious attraction, manged to pull in a lot of visitors on sunday mornings. The roads (??) were mostly used as parking lots by tourist vehicles and busses. It would have taken us more than 20 minutes to reach the outskirts after which we had a few more kilometers of pothole filled roads filled with mad drivers and crazy dogs.

On crossing the TN border the difference was very clearly visible, the AP government had manged to do a decent job, I mean, the roads were not really upto the mark but the state highway strech from the NH till the border made it look like heaven!

There were occasional Potholes and Camouflaged Speed breakers (Deepak will remember the one after the turn!) but, on the whole the roads were far much better than the TN state highway. The slowriding early morning trio, had reached Kone by 8.30 AM, and we were quickly joined by deepak, who had rode those 100 odd Km's all by himself to attend the G2G! Kudos to you man! After a small Discussion and the rest of the gang being n incommunicado, Aargee made a prediction that they would join us only by 10, after this we started the almost off road hill climb.

About Knoe Falls : Nothing much to see here, except Monkeys, Fighting dogs and Beggars, the ones who issue tickets and the ones who dont. we found a spot where we parked our bikes and engaged in a very technical discussion where I was joined by deepak in our " Listen only" modes and we let the semi(??) experts do the talking. As the sun slowly broke apart the overcast skies, we were joined by the rest of the gang; Sudarshan,Sunil,Rajiv,Sriram,Rakesh and rajesh. After laying our sites and hands on the snacks, we split into two groups, the ons who wanted to see the falls and the ones who wanted to stay back and get bugged by beggars. After a Long discussion, we decided to move on after a brief photshoot. We found a small park on the way where yet another ticketing beggar showed up! Now I know why the roads were decent ! This was the last of these guys! Phew! Aargee wanted to move on and wanted to reach home early and pushed off early. As we found a parking space for our seats, we had a casual discussion on scorpions,monkeys,Mary Jane, college times and Missing bikes :P

All the riding and the Scorching sun was making us even more hungry and despite the snacks, we had a tough time trying to take control of our hunger, we decided to call it a day at Kone and started our downhill ride. We decided to take Ganesh and Sunil's suggestion and took the road towards puttur where we had to take a left,which would take us towards thiruthanni, enroute we had a break when the "Uranium 220" Pulsie had a puncture. While Sudharshan had gone to fetch a guy to patch up the hole, Sriram,Sunil and Rajiv were waiting a few kilometers ahead. After Fixing up the tyre, we headed out towards tiruthani, we managed to cross the AP border and we were able to realise that we were back in our good ol' TN when the smooth tarmac ended and our suspensions struggled to absorb the impact of the potholes.

We stopped at a Hotel for Lunch, right after the border and what a relief it was, the food came in at the right moment and we managed to finish off the day's food stock :P (Special thanks goes to Sudarshan) From there on we pushed off to Chennai Via Tiruthanni-Thiruvallur - thirumazhisai through the pothole patched state highway, We stopped once for a fuel break and from there on it was non stop, high adrenaline ride till Sriperumbudur where each one of us broke into seperate directions and headed home. On the whole It was a awesome on road-off road- No road ride!

Anyway I had my parts of fun as well...all happenings in last 24 hrs
Raghav...you were right, the Tirumala ghat road was better than the Yercaud one...and you can expect the rest

Came back to chennai around 5:30...saw a Nano, a Ambassador and a 207 meticulously hindered by lorries near Puttur.The Nano and Ambassador had very less left with lifeless bodies in it... It was hell scary
