  • I'm eying the AGV MPA types mainly because of the scratch proof visor. I would like to know how the weight of the helemet would affect a rider? Neck pain/Back pain perhaps?
Caveat. All lids in GP road come with 'scratchproof' visors .
My LS2 has witnessed sufficient abuse and its still going strong. Mostly careless scrapes in the visor. It had the 'this-visor-is-scratchproof' sticker on it and I was royally stupid to test if this was true!

If you are spending some moola, put in the style quotient as well. The only graphics from AGV I like is the plain white one. (Your tastes will differ). I like the aesthetics of LS2 and has no lateral movements and changes in the position due to the wind.

And ask Rajvenky, his lid's rear vents adds power to his Ninja..

    And also +1 with Rajesh:
My pockets are a bit shallow this week.

P.S: Am sure you know already, but try posting the query in UT sub-forum to get more coverage.

    • For a change, why not we have ECR / Tiger caves ride on 8/8/2010 Sunday?

We can start around 6:30-7:00 reach Tiger caves /ECR spend some time there and on the return we shall have breakfast at Hot Chips.

Or shall start towards Hot Chips for breakfast on the ECR and then head towards Tiger caves.

This is just my suggestion, thought would give a break to Loooong short ride

      Let the discussion begin...................

You could try this shop on Mt Road near Thousand Lights called Rainbow. Has a large collection of lids and prices seemed reasonable.

It is good to have an end to journey towards; but it is the journey that matters in the end.

            • I'm assuming the meet up will be Cozy, so I'm for the meets even if its for 5-10 minutes only; I'm willing to ride down ONLY TO meet the folks unless the meet up is too far off like Sholinganallur or beyond.

The Falls in itself was a bit disappointing, Poorly maintained and it felt like a huge bathroom shower with an odour which reminded me of Lifebuoy soaps. The falls wasn't as good as I hoped it to be but the ride and the people made it awesome.

From pilgrims camping in the roads to the mechanic guy who gave me a lecture on the benefits of tubeless tyres; and add dodging cow dung pieces in bullet time outside Periyapalayam, it was an eventful ride indeed .

Personally I think that you should try out all the helmets for fit before making a choice. You should be done quickly as the choice is pretty limited....

I have an AGV-MPA which I bought based on this simple fact. I liked the Cross helmets better for their look and finish but couldn't get one that fit comfortably. Ditto the LS2. I also noticed the inner liners of the Cross were better made than the other two and more easily removable for washing - however this could be different across the model ranges available.

I can tell you that the AGV's 'scratch-proof' visor is not so - that being said, I can also tell you that the visor is very good quality and I have very minimal scratches on it after 8 months of use.

Another reason that I bought this helmet was that I noticed the peripheral field of vision especially was better than the other two but that again I think depends on the size and shape of your noggin - SO TRY THEM OUT FIRST!!

I chose a white based helmet for two reasons - better visibility at night (safety) and better reflectivity in the hot sun - hence I presumed it would be cooler.

You can also try "Sri Padham Enterprises" ( I think that is the name )- GP road next to helmet centre I think - small shop and limited range but at least he had something!!

Buddy, if I had known that you were shooting a video, I would have posed better!!

Great effort though! And as for being tired out - my bum was asleep even today!!

@ The rest of the guys - I'm happy to report that after a sound snooze I woke up this morning without any aches and pains that were not present already before the ride! My first 300+km ride in the last 15 years! When you get to my age and after such a long break from biking - you will realize what a big deal this was for me! Thanks guys!
