Guys - thanks for all the wishes and concern. I am fine save for a bruise in my hip and some sprained muscle in the chest. My riding gear really paid off and the maximum damage was to my bike. Will send to PBK on Monday.

Unfortunately it happened so fast that the guy in the car was gone before anybody realised what was happening. The a**-hole didn't even slow down. The bystanders were actually more concerned about me since I went down so hard and nobody even noted the car's number.

No cops were involved nor report made, so I don't think that my insurance will pay up. Not sure actually - does insurance pay up for a tumble from the bike without FIR/complaint? Come to think of it, I've never claimed insurance for a bike yet, so I'm not sure of the rules/procedures.

Last time i had inquired about the insurance they dint need a FIR. So insurance coverage is possible for the damage. Glad to know that you got off with minor injuries.

In your case insurance could be claimed but the damage should be reported to the insurance company within 24 hours after the accident. Once my friend had an accident, he claimed insurance from Iffco Tokio it seems. The insurance guys told that it should be reported within 24 hours.

Sunny, bet you beer to dollar, there's no FIR required to claim insurance. As long as you've comprehensive full cover insurance, which I'm sure.

Only downside you can expect is that the surveyor will delay to visit the PBK showroom. But on the other side, since you've taken from PBK Adyar, you must be having the insurance that PBK has tie up with; which means the surveyor shouldn't delay as he keeps visiting the PBK.S.S every day or alternate.

If you've one from one of the Govt insurance like Oriental or National, then forget it.

PS - I'm talking not out of other's, but from my own experience.
PPS - What's the connection between a FIR, insurance claim & vehicle damage Sunny? Just give a thought.

We'd also met one of our old member who rides a real Unicorn or Rhino!!! Yep the motorcycle had a horn in the front - Srinikasyap riding on his beautiful Yezdi

Edit - The DIY topic we were discussing today is quite interesting & it got deviated abruptly. Its a good initiative & I would like to be a part of it to learn too. Should we open a discussion thread for that & the ideas flow in or should we keep it offline?

Bhavisya (scoyco seller) told me that all the jk-27's in coming lot is booked and having only one XL which will go to our tarun/kiran.

And even all jk-17's are booking fast. myself ordered one jk-17 (booked)

Guess... he orders another lot which will take two more months to arrive and its to give to riders in mumbai,pune,cochin . Majority of the current lot going to chennai,banglore

Well, I wanted to have one for a long time now, Glad I came up with it on the thread before atleast. For now, The difficulties include:

1. All Participants to get the basic tools, One set per member.

2. Getting a proper place to do the DIY GTG

3. Getting a Mechanic to help us with better inputs (As per Steve)

4. An enthusiastic group, who wants to learn on the DIY - We wont want some one to come there & not wanting to grease their hands.I stress again..
We expect people who wants to get dirty (with grease & petrol ) & not a regular coffee - Chit chat meet.

5. Timings convenient to all.


I don't expect this to happen right away, May be not even this month - But some day i wish this happens & every one gets to learn out of it.

I seriously want some advices / tips from our beloved friends to make this happen. Any one??

Had a nice meet up today. Then headed towards Hotel Bharini (Which again proved us they are Lazy) and had our breakfast. Tarun surprised us by joining us at the hotel.

Grabbed a copy of xbhp magazine and headed back home.

Yup. We will do it. even next week. but for mechanic to come we should plan for a place close to city.

Edit: But what i learnt from my mechanic is , many mechs will take off on sunday as they work full times remaining days. and also if they work they will come around 10 and leave around 2-3. so we need to call known mechs and possibly pay him some money. Just my thoughts.
